Los Angeles FC midfielder Latif Blessing has advised his teammates to put behind them the 5-1 defeat suffered against Minnesota United a fortnight ago and focus on Sunday’s away fixture with New York Red Bulls in Major Soccer League.
The 21-year-old has been in fine form in his maiden season at the club, whom he joined from Kansas City, scoring five goals in 21 appearances.
With Red Bulls having a five-game flawless run halted by Columbus Crew last week, Blessing believes they could do the same.
"It's [only] a game we lost so just forget it. We have to continue our game. We have more games to play so we have to forget that [defeat]," Blessing told his club's website.
"I have to put in energy. The coach just believes in me so when I am selected to play, I have to put everything I have into playing [so that we can win the game also]," he added.
Los Angeles sit second on the Western Conference log with 36 points, six points behind leaders FC Dallas.
Blessing won Ghana Premier League's topscorer award in 2016 after netting 17 times for Liberty Professionals.
