Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski backs struggling Borussia Dortmund’s Aubameyang

Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has backed Borussia Dortmund star Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to overcome his goal drought in the German top-flight.

Aubameyang has scored 10 goals in 11 Bundesliga games this campaign but has not found the back of the net for the BVB in his last five games across all competitions.

After displacing the Gabon international in the topscorer’s chart with his goal in Der Klassiker on Saturday, Lewandowski shared a tip on how Aubameyang can revive his goalscoring form for Peter Bosz's side.

“Everybody goes through these phases and the scorer’s job is the hardest one on the pitch anyway,” Lewandowski told Bild.

“When you are on a good run, you score everything, but woe betides when it doesn’t work and you hit the crossbar instead of the net.

“Then a lot of things go through your head.

“It’s important to clear your head quickly and regain the old looseness, then I’m sure he’ll be successful again.”
