Ankaragucu reinforce with Bakary Kone & Olanrewaju Kehinde’s addition

Newly promoted Turkish Super Lig side Ankaragucu have reinforced with the signing of Bakary Kone and Olanrewaju Kehinde.

Kone, 30, was acquired from Spanish outfit Malaga and handed a two-year contract with an option of a year extension.

The defender spent last term with Strasbourg on loan and was a consistent figure for the French Ligue 1 side, making 27 league appearances and capping it with a goal.

Kehinde signed a three-year deal after helping the Ankara 19 Mayıs Stadium outfit secure promotion to the top-flight last season while on loan.

On Monday, the club heralded the capture of the new recruits at a signing ceremony in Bestepe and they could make their debuts when the Yellow-Navy clash with Galatasaray in their opening league game on August 10.

“MKE Ankaragucu, which will host Galatasaray in the first week of Super League, continues our transfer with our Management Board,” read a statement on the club website.

“We have signed a preliminary contract with Burkina Faso national team stopper Bakary Kone [2 + 1 year] and Muhammed Kehinde [3 years].”

In his reaction, Kone said: "I made findings before I joined Ankaragucu.

“There were many clubs interested in me but Ankaragucu showed more seriousness that is why I chose to come here.

“Galatasaray match will be very difficult for us but we will try our best.”

Club chairman Mehmet Yiginer is delighted to secure Kehinde on a permanent deal.

“Muhammad Kehinde gave important contributions to us during our championship season,” Yiginer said at the ceremony.

“We wanted to keep him on our team. It was a rental for the past season and we are happy to solve the problem.”
