Adeleye Olamilekan tasks Super Eagles to pass Atletico Madrid test

FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s Adeleye Olamilekan has charged the Super Eagles players to show the right attitude if they are to make any impact against Athletico Madrid in a friendly match fixed for Tuesday in Uyo.

The Anambra Warriors defender is among 23 players invited for the encounter billed for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium and the player has challenged his teammates to be ready for the task ahead so that they can give a positive image of players plying their trade in the domestic league.

“I will say I am very glad to be invited to the camp of the Super Eagles and I consider it as an honour,” Olamilekan told Goal.

“I am looking forward to meeting with the rest of my teammates and a few others playing abroad when I hit the camp. It is a responsibility that has been given to us to play up to our optimum to ensure that we give a positive image of the Nigerian league.

“We can’t afford to let Nigerians down. We must show the right attitude and play with utmost concentration if we are to get a good result against Athletico Madrid.

“They are a good side but we can surprise them if we lift our game and try to play for the rest of our colleagues playing in the local league. We can do it and I expect everyone among us to make the same mentality.”

The camp opened in Abuja on Friday and the Eagles are expected to leave for Uyo over the weekend after a couple of training sessions at the Abuja National Stadium.
