Adama Traore's late strike seals Wolves' first Premier League win of the season

Adama Traore was the hero as Wolverhampton Wanderers secured their maiden league win of the 2018-19 campaign, shocking West Ham United 1-0 at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Despite Wolves’ impressive, bold approach in their return to the English Premier League, Nuno Espírito Santo‘s men are yet to pick up the maximum points.

But with the game at the London Stadium heading for a goalless stalemate, Colombia midfielder Carlos Sanchez was dispossessed deep in his half by Ruben Neves, thus, leading to Traore’s winner in the third minute of stoppage time.

The Spanish-Malian who was signed for a record fee from Middlesbrough in the summer has yet to get going, and was again named among the substitutes.

He was introduced in the 62nd minute - his third appearance off the bench this season.

The winger did his chances no harm with his late strike to hand the English top-flight newcomers their maiden win in the division, thus, leaving Manuel Pellegrini’s side without a point in their first four games this season.

Traore will hope to continue in such form when they take on Everton after the international break.
