Abdullahi Biffo unsatisfied despite Katsina United’s triumph over Kwara United

Katsina United humbled  Kwara United 3-1 in the quarterfinal of the Federation Cup and head coach Abdullahi Biffo still feels his side could have done better with their display on Wednesday.

Goals from Destiny Ashadi, Martins Usule and Tasiu Lawal helped the Chanji Boys demolish Abubakar Bala’s side despite a consolation through Segun Alebiosu at the Agege Stadium.

And the gaffer expressed joy over their progress to the semi-finals, while he assures they will work hard to improve on their showing in the quest to record domestic glory this season.

“The victory is massive not only for me, the team but for the good people of Katsina state,” Biffo told media.

“However, our performance is the worst so far in the on-going Aiteo Cup competition. I don’t really know why the performance is poor but I know it’s like that sometimes in football. Perhaps, discipline and youthful energies helped us greatly to finish on top despite our poor showing.

“I’m really happy with the massive win, we are right now in the semifinal and closer to the final. We will go back to work harder this time around on the blunders to be in fine stead for the semi-final clash. Football is played for 90 minutes it does not matter when the winning goals come in the course of the match.

“Of course, when a team is down - it’s expected that they will come out fighting and that’s why they pulled one goal back before we went for the break. I know my players and what they are capable of doing so I had no reason to panic. We will work very hard to ensure we win the semifinal clash move to the final and challenge for the trophy.”
