Abdullahi Biffo expresses Katsina United eagerness for NPFL restart

Katsina United tactician, Abdullahi Biffo has stressed that his players are anxious for the restart of the league season after they demolished Nigerien top-flight side, Espoira FC 5-0 in Katsina recently.

Joshua Agboola, Joseph Adah, Yishau Garuba, Mohammed Oseni and Destiny Ashadi put the Nigerien side to the sword at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium and Biffo opined that he was thrilled by the output of his wards in the game.

He said that his team has refused to play many friendly games because they stuck to their programme in details and have had more practice sessions with the emphasis on keeping the players match fit and ready for the continuation of the season.

“We played a friendly game with a club from the Niger Republic and we were able to beat them 5-0. They were a tough side irrespective of the scores,” Biffo told Goal.

“We used the game to see the readiness of the players and they showed that they did not allow the long break to affect their training activities. They played as a unit and were too much to handle by the club.

“We should have played against Federal Road Safety Corps team also but they pulled out at the last minute. It would have been another test game for us but we have moved on from that. We are looking at concentrating on the other aspects of our preparations.”

Biffo revealed that Katsina United’s mission when the league continues is to consolidate on their performance in the 24 games they have played and ensure that they end the season on high note.

“We are ready for the restart of the season if it is to continue today. We are targeting consolidating on our performance in the matches we have played,” he continued.

“We have built a structure that is difficult to collapse and we are determined to end the season on a good note. We have occupied the top five before at some stages of the season and it won’t be a bad idea if we end that way.”

Katsina United are seventh in the top flight log with 36 points from 24 games and they are away to Go Round in their next fixture after the long break.
