The winners of the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) will pocket US$750,000, according to Caf.
The runner-up will earn $400,000, the continent’s football governing body announced ahead of the quarter-finals this weekend.
A total of $3.2 million will be shared among the 16 participating teams.
The tournament, which is currently ongoing in South Africa, is reserved for home-based players.
The last eight teams are Nigeria, who will square off with Morocco in Cape Town come Saturday, Mali and Zimbabwe for the other quarter-finals game later that day.
Others are Gabon, who will face Libya in Polokwane on Sunday then Ghana and DR Congo in Mangaung.
