Amapakabo urges title-chasing Enugu Rangers to stay focused

Enugu Rangers coach Imama Amapakabo has charged his wards to remain tough as the NPFL 2015/16 season enters its final phase.

The Flying Antelopes have gone 32 years without a major trophy, but with a one-point lead over Wikki Tourists at the top of the NPFL table, Amapakabo has charged his team to remain strong.

"We have to stay tough, strong, do anything unusual and stay true to what we have been doing that has helped us this far. We have to stay focused and not get distracted by anything," Imama told Goal.

"To make a good soup you need the right ingredients and more so add the right quantity to make it complete. It's my mentality, when i took over at Enugu Rangers the first set if people i had to interact with were the technical crew.

"I had to instill in them my ideology, philosophy and they bought into it. That has actually helped us all because we spoke with one voice. We shall remain strong to finish this final lap with that mental toughness in us. A lot of teams want to be where we are at this point and we aren't ready to drop so for us to be at the top, we have to stay very strong."

Enugu Rangers are scheduled to face FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Thursday in a week 31 NPFL tie.
