Akwa United sign six new players

The Promise Keepers have taken a bold step to correct the anomalies of the first stanza with the acquisition of six new players

Akwa United have announced the signing of players whom they have completed their registration in compliance with the League Management Company .

They are Fortune Omoniwari, Hasan Babangida, Alhassan Dosso and Julius Gideon, Michael Ikpe and Amaechi Orji.

Media officer of the side Uwem Ekoh disclosed that they decided to add the players to their fold as their target is to win the NPFL title.

“We have added six new players to our team to provide the necessary steel that was lacking during the first stanza and with these new ones we are certain that we are going to do well in the league. Our target is to win the league title and we are serious about it,” Ekoh told Goal.

Ekoh also informed Goal that Akwa United have released former Enyimba striker, Ezenwa Otorogu owing to low productivity.

Akwa United ended the first round in eighth spot on the log with 27 points from 18 matches and they are on the road to 3SC on Sunday in a Match Day 19 tie billed for the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
