John Oluremi William has tipped Rovaniemen Palloseura to mount a challenge for the Finland’s Premier League title despite a disappointing 10th place finish last season.
RoPS endured a miserable 2014-15 campaign but are currently second on the Veikkausliiga log after 21 games.
But the former USA U21 star, who moved from Morocco’s MAS Fez to Finland during the off-season, believes the Keskuskenttä giants club can end their drought for league success this term.
“We are in an excellent position. There is obviously only one goal and that is to win the league. We have a very capable team and I've enjoyed my first training and getting to know everyone,” Will John told Goal.
“My goal is the same everywhere I go to help the team win and to score as many goals as possible while enjoying and expressing myself and my style of play.
“They are a solid team and hardworking team – very similar to my former team AZAL in Baku.
"You can see with the team and the quality that we have got that we can have a great season,” he concluded.
RoPS host sixth-placed FC Lahti in their next league game on Sunday.
