Ikechukwu Uche to undergo medical with Mexican club Tigres

Barring unforeseen circumstances, Ikechukwu Uche is expected to sign for Tigres in the Mexican top division on Wednesday after traveling for medicals.

The Villarreal striker will undergo medicals at the Nuevo Leon-based club on Wednesday and would be unveiled after passing his medicals.

It is expected to be the last big signing of the 31-year-old’s career.

Uche scored 19 goals for Nigeria in a career that began in 2007 but has missed playing at the World Cup twice – in 2010 due to injury and in 2014 after a public falling out with coach Stephen Keshi.

He returned to the Super Eagles just in time for their final 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches where he scored against Congo in a 2-0 victory in Brazzaville.
