Vorm confirms Tottenham switch

The Netherlands international is on the verge of swapping Swansea for north London and is expecting to see plenty of game time despite the presence of undisputed No.1 Hugo Lloris
Swansea City's Michel Vorm has confirmed he is set to join Tottenham and says he is relishing the chance to compete with Hugo Lloris for the No.1 jersey.

The Netherlands international, currently on holiday after claiming third place at this summer's World Cup, is expected to complete his move to White Hart Lane imminently, with fellow Swan Ben Davies having already linked up his new Spurs team-mates in Toronto on the second leg of their tour of the United States.

Vorm, though, rejected suggestions that he would not see much game time at Tottenham and is confident the club's involvement in the Europa League will provide plenty of opportunities to impress.

"Every club has two top goalkeepers in their squad," the Dutch keeper told De Telegraaf. "It suits the club's philosophy that there are two of us with Hugo and me. Especially when we see that Tottenham is active in a lot of competitions."

Vorm's first-choice status at Swansea had been thrown into doubt with the signing of free agent Lukasz Fabianski, with the Dutchman previously admiting he had not been made aware of the Polish keeper's arrival.

The 30-year-old moved to the Liberty Stadium from Utrecht in 2011 and has largely impressed in his three seasons in the Premier League.

Spurs will hope Vorm's abilities as a sweeper-keeper will provide a more like-for-like back-up to Lloris than Brad Fridel, who will be relegated to teh club's third-choice shot-stopper after Heurelho Gomes left the club to join Watford.
