Siasia picks 21 players for Gabon game

The Dream Team VI handler has named a strong squad for the All African Games qualifier against their Gabonese opponents in Libreville

Dream Team VI head coach, Samson Siasia has released the names of 21 players that will travel to Gabon ahead of Saturday’s All African Games qualifying first leg tie with Arsenal midfielder, Alex Iwobi, Enyimba whizkid Kingsley Sokari and 19 others making the cut.

Former junior internationals Gero Abdullahi and Aminu Umar were among the surprise exclusions from the team list released on Tuesday.

In a press release from the team's media officer, Timi Ebikagboro, Umar and Warri Wolves’ striker Freedom Omofonma were excluded because they arrived the camp late from their respective base. Omofonma returned late with Caf Confederation Cup hopeful, Warri Wolves from their trip to Burkina Faso.

The Dream Team VI made up of 16 home and 5 foreign based professional players are expected to depart the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday evening for Gabon via Ethiopia Airlines.
