Heartland of Owerri striker, Isah Akor is the current highest goal scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with six goals.
The striker has attributed his impressive debut in the elite division and his goals scoring feat to God and his team mates.
Akor has scored six out of the Owerri based outfit's 17 goals this season and scored last weekend in Heartland's 3-0 thumping of visiting Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in Week 9 clash.
And the player was quick to divert attention to his team mates who have all helped him in this exploit.
"I cannot deny the involvement of God in everything,” Akor told Goal.com.
“I do. It was him that has opened the way to the act of goals scoring and I cannot thank him enough. He has been my able support and my pillar and strength too.
"My team mates too have also been very impressive as they supply crucial passes and make nice interceptions for me to either score or for the ball not to enter our net.
"I don't have any realistic goal target for the season, but if God says it is time to put an end to the 20 goals mark record for most goals scored in a season by Jude Aneke two seasons ago this season, then I won’t complain.
"It is still very early and I also have others chasing the same glory and so I can't say I'm up there yet," Akor explained.
The former Prime FC of Oshogbo player leads a list that includes Bishop Onyeudo of Gombe United (5 goals), Haruna Babalo of El Kanemi (5 goals) and Dele Olorundare of Sunshine Stars, who also has five goals.
