Enugu Rangers striker Alhaji Gero has stated happiness with his invitation to the Super Eagles and has vowed to do his best with the team.
Gero who was part of the Flying Eagles team to the World Cup in Turkey told Goal that he merited his invitation and will justify the confidence reposed in him.
"I am happy that the coaches led by Stephen Keshi found me worthy to be invited for the second leg of the qualifiers of CHAN against Cote d' Voire," Gero told Goal.
"It shows they have been monitoring my progress. But I want to say that I am grateful to the coaches because it is a call for me to improve my game in all aspects.
"I will surely do my best because we have many good players in Nigeria and to be invited means one is doing well.
"I have been praying to train under coach Keshi and this is the opportunity for me to do so.
"I know we are going for the second leg to consolidate on the emphatic victory in Kaduna," he said.
The home based Super Eagles defeated Cote d'Ivoire 4-1 in the first leg and would take on the Elephants in Abidjan in the second leg.
