Agent dismisses talk of Barcelona move for Jose Angel

It has been claimed that Luis Enrique's departure has unsettled the left-back, but the 22-year-old's representative claims the Spaniard wants to remain in the Italian capital
The agent of Jose Angel has dismissed reports linking his client with Barcelona, insisting that the defender is happy at Roma.

The Spaniard was brought to the Stadio Olimpico last summer by Luis Enrique and it has been speculated that the full-back might seek a return to his homeland now that his compatriot has parted company with the Giallorossi.

There have also been rumours that Barca are considering signing Angel as a replacement for Eric Abidal, who is out of action for an indefinite period while he recovers from a liver transplant, but the left-back's representative insists that there has been no contact with the Catalans.

"Absolutely not, I know nothing of Barca's interest," Alfredo Martinez told "He wants to stay in the Italian capital, without doubt.

"He's happy in this team, this city and with his contract. We know that Roma will change their coach, but that changes nothing for us."

The 22-year-old, who joined Roma from Sporting Gijon, made 27 appearances in Serie A last season.
