Holtby confident ahead of Anzhi clash

The German says the squad have been boosted by their unbeaten run and, while the squad know the Russians will provide a test, are confident of winning
Lewis Holtby believes Tottenham possess the quality to progress from their Europa League group undefeated, with the German targeting three points against Anzhi Makhachkala on Thursday.

Spurs began their European campaign with a 3-0 win over Tromso at White Hart Lane and Holtby is confident the north Londoners can live up to their billing as tournament favourites when they travel to Russia.

8/1 Tottenham are 8/1 with Coral to win the Europa League
"We just have to try to win every game," the 23-year-old told the club's official website. "If you see the group, we have to be confident with the aims and the qualities and the abilities we have.

"I think we’ve had a very good unbeaten run and the result against Chelsea was okay.

"We’re near the top of the league, and in the Europa League we’ve already got off the mark, so we’re flying with confidence over to Russia, but it’s going to be a tough game.

"We have to be up for it and be prepared.”

Tottenham's opponents, Anzhi, have sold most of their star players during the summer transfer window and have not won since May - a run of 14 competitive fixtures.
