The 50-year-old's appointment has seen several prominent staff members depart Old Trafford as the Scot moulds the club in his image before officially succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has believes David Moyes is right to install his own backroom staff at Manchester United.

The 50-year-old is not set to officially take over from the retired Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford until July 1, but has already allowed assistant manager Mike Phelan and goalkeeping coach Eric Steele to leave the Premier League champions.

Rene Meulensteen is also thought to be on his way Everton assistant Steve Round, first-team coach Jimmy Lumsden and goalkeeping coach Chris Woods from Everton - and Redknapp has backed Moyes to bring in faces he can trust as prepares for the biggest challenge of his managerial career.

"Everyone’s got their own opinions," he told the Manchester Evening News. “But I think you need your own people around you. You need to know people are on your side and be able to trust them and talk to them.

"I think everybody wants that around them. There’s lots of downtime in this game and you need people around you who you know are with you.

"[Sir] Alex had a great staff and I’m sure they’ll go on and work elsewhere. But David loved his staff at Everton and he’s brought them with him."
