Another breathtaking cameo from Socceroos midfielder Daniel Arzani at the World Cup has left Australia in awe as the teenager once again lived up to his billing as the country's brightest prospect in many years.
As the youngest player in Russia, Arzani is showing the poise of a much older man on football's biggest stage.
Despite being given less than 30 minutes to shine against Denmark in a 1-1 draw, the 19-year-old again stood out as he created two good opportunities and tested Kasper Schmeichel in goal.
With the world now literally at his feet, Arzani has an uncanny way of staying grounded and it's clearly key to his ability to soar free in Russia.
"You go out there, and you think everybody is human, and every top player can make a mistake,” Arzani said.
“You relate to that and it gives you confidence.
“I just came on really happy, really excited and also a little bit relaxed because that’s when you play your best football.
“I just wanted to come on and make an impact."
A super sub in every sense of the word, calls have inevitably grown for Arzani to get his first start for the Socceroos against Peru.
With nothing less than a win needed, a start for the young winger could prove decisive and Arzani admits the situation is out of his hands.
"I'll work as hard as I can and it's the boss' choice," he said.
"He told me to make sure I remember my defensive duties and do my thing when I get the ball.
"It's not a decision for me to make, I'm just doing my thing and it's the boss' choice."
Bert van Marwijk has certainly been impressed with Arzani to date and admits simply including him in his squad was an exception for the Dutchman.
"Everybody knows he's a big talent but he hasn't played so long in Australia," van Marwijk said post-match.
"It's an exception that I named him in the squad but I trust his qualities.
"He has to learn a lot but he's very talented and an intelligent player. I think it's good for him to play 25 minutes today. We will see for the next game if he starts."
