NWPL Super Six: Rivers Angels seal final spot

Edwin Okon's ladies edged closer to retaining the league diadem after they nicked their second win in the ongoing 2015 NWPL Super Six football competition in Umuahia

Reigning champions Rivers Angels have sealed a place in the final of the ongoing 2015 Nigeria Women Premier League Super Six after a 1-0 victory against Sunshine Queens on Tuesday.

Loveth Ayila's strike in the 39th minute helped their Port Harcourt Ladies beat Akure Ladies in a keenly contested encounter at the the Umuahia Township Stadium.

At the same venue, 2015 Women Federation Cup finalists, Bayelsa Queens stepped up their chase for double with a 4-1 victory against Confluence Queens. Edeji Chindinma's brace and a goal apiece from Dabrinze Blessing and Rafiat Sule blew away the Kogi Ladies' lone strike from Rosemary Okoro to score four points. 

Meanwhile on Wednesday, Confluence Queens will engage Delta Queens to topple Group A leaders Bayelsa Queens with four points as Sunshine Queens take on Nasarawa Amazons in a mere formality clash.

Rivers Angels, Confluence Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Delta Queens, Osun Babes and Sunshine Queens are teams participating in this year's edition with the overall winner crowned as the Nigeria Women Premier League for the 2014/2015 season.
