Commentary

That's all for now though, goodbye!
The result means Bayern move seven points clear of Leipzig as they strengthen their grip on top spot.
Goretzka's first half goal gives Bayern a crucial win in the Bundesliga title race. The visitors came into this game without Lewandowski, but showed plenty of resolve to overcome his absence. After a strong start from Leipzig, Bayern stung the hosts when Goretzka thumped Muller's cut back into the roof of the net. The second half was more difficult for the visitors, who came under immense pressure: Olmo wasted two huge openings and Nkunku also went close as the hosts piled the pressure on. However, Bayern firmly held them off and looked comfortable in the final stages as they grabbed a vital three points.
90' + 4' FULL TIME: RB Leipzig 0-1 Bayern Munich
90' + 3' Neuer punches Nkunku's corner clear as Leipzig's hopes start to fade.
90' + 2' Gnabry gets in behind at an angle and fires a tame shot straight at Gulacsi.
90' + 1' Three minutes of stoppage time are added.
90' Hee-Chan slips when chasing Sorloth's flick-on and it runs through safely to Neuer.
I. Konaté
Y. Poulsen
88' Poulsen makes way for Konate following a minor injury.
88' Leipzig don't look as balanced in attack following their substitutions. They're sending direct deliveries into the box at every opportunity, but Bayern are dealing with it comfortably.
86' Sorloth fouls his man from Nkunku's corner to relieve the pressure on Bayern.
84' Sabitzer's corner is headed away by Sule, as Leipzig continue to push for an equaliser.
Hwang Hee-Chan
T. Adams
82' Adams is replaced by Hee-Chan as Leipzig send another attacker on.
L. Hernández
Yellow Card
81' Hernandez trips Sabitzer providing the hosts with an opportunity to deliver a set-piece into the box.
Javi Martínez
L. Sané
81' Sane is replaced by Martinez as Bayern look to tighten up at the back for the final stages.
78' Gulacsi gets down low to parry Muller's low, angled strike from the edge of the box wide.
76' Musiala diverts Muller's cut back well over the bar.
A. Sørloth
A. Haidara
73' Haidara also comes off for a striker - this time, Sorloth.
Y. Poulsen
Daniel Olmo
73' Leipzig make two changes and switch to a more direct approach. Firstly, Olmo makes way for Poulsen.
S. Gnabry
K. Coman
72' Coman also comes off for Gnabry.
J. Musiala
L. Goretzka
72' Bayern make a double substitution: the first change sees Goretzka make way for Musiala.
70' Nkunku goes down in the area after a soft challenge from Hernandez and the referee waves play on.
68' Coman slices his volley backwards after a precise cross from Muller.
66' The tempo of the game has slowed down considerably since a breathless start to the half.
64' Leipzig made an electric start to the half, but Bayern managed to ride out the pressure and they're slowly beginning to control the game again.
62' Kimmich's deep free-kick is headed clear by Upamecano on the edge of the box.
D. Upamecano
Yellow Card
61' Upamecano is shown a yellow card after pulling Coman over just inside the Leipzig half.
60' Brilliant save from Neuer! Sabitzer lashes a rasping drive from 25 yards and for a moment it looks as though it might dip under the crossbar and in! However, Neuer instinctively rises to acrobatically tip it over the bar!
58' Sabitzer's 25-yard drive bobbles into the arms of Neuer.
57' After failing to produce a single shot from inside the box in the first half, Leipzig have now managed four already in the second period. They've made an excellent start to this half and really should be level.
55' Olmo rips possession off Pavard, before racing into the box and lashing a shot into the side-netting from a tight angle.
54' Huge miss from Olmo! Kluivert's low cross ricochets off Alaba and straight to Olmo, who - under no duress - plants his shot wide of the far post from eight yards!
53' The hosts have started the second period with two big chances and you wonder if they'll come back to rue these misses later on.
51' Sabitzer goes close! Haidara nods Kluivert's cross into the path of Sabitzer, whose acrobatic volley from six yards flashes agonisingly wide of the near post!
49' Chance for Nkunku! Haidara's cross flicks off Sule and straight to Nkunku! However, the attacker snatches at the chance and screws it wide from eight yards!
47' Bayern immediately win a corner, but Kimmich's delivery towards the back post is cleared by Nkunku.
J. Kluivert
E. Forsberg
46' Forsberg is replaced by Kluivert at half time.
46' Leipzig kick off the second half.
Leipzig have been nullified going forward and you'd expect to see them bring on a more traditional focal point in attack in the second half. The introduction of Sorloth or Poulsen from the bench would be unsurprising.
Goretzka's clinical finish gives Bayern a narrow lead at the break. Despite pitting the two best sides in the Bundesliga together, this game has lacked chances. Leipzig largely controlled the first half, but Bayern looked relatively comfortable dealing with their attacks. The visitors have been missing Lewandowski going forward, but they punished the hosts ruthlessly with one of their rare openings. Muller got to the byline and laid it off to Goretzka who hammered a powerful effort beyond Gulacsi, to give the visitors a precious 1-0 lead.
45' + 1' HALF TIME: RB Leipzig 0-1 Bayern Munich
44' Choupo-Moting rises highest to head Kimmich's corner at goal, but it's straight at Gulacsi and the goalkeeper makes a straightforward save.
42' Strong save from Gulacsi! Sane drills a half-volley towards the bottom corner from 20 yards, but Gulacsi skilfully gets down to tip it past the post!
40' Well, it's going to be difficult for the hosts now. With Bayern missing Lewandowski, Leipzig's best hope was to keep a clean sheet and try and pick off a narrow win. But now they'll need to stage a comeback to recover.
T. Müller
Assist
38' That was a brilliant pass from Muller. It would have been easy to shoot from a tight angle there, but instead, Muller intelligently waited to cut it back to the unmarked Goretzka to fire home!
L. Goretzka
Goal
38' GORETZKA! 1-0! Bayern take a crucial lead, as Muller latches onto long ball in behind the defence from Pavard, before cutting it back to Goretzka who thumps a powerful finish into the roof of the net from 12 yards!
M. Sabitzer
Yellow Card
37' Sabitzer is booked for blasting the ball away following Haidara's foul on Kimmich.
34' Haidara crosses accurately into Olmo, but the midfielder loses his balance at the crucial moment and he fails to get a shot off.
J. Kimmich
Yellow Card
33' Kimmich is shown a yellow card after a late challenge to stop Sabitzer from breaking away.
32' Haidara is down with an ankle injury, but he's up again quickly and should be able to continue.
30' Chances have been sparse for both teams so far. Bayern have managed just two shots from inside the box, while Leipzig have failed to muster a single shot from these positions.
28' Another move breaks down for the visitors as Goretzka misplaces his throughball intended for Muller.
N. Mukiele
Yellow Card
26' Mukiele is shown a yellow card after catching Hernandez with a nasty challenge from behind.
24' Chance for Choupo-Moting! Coman leads a rapid break for Bayern and he hurries into the box, before driving a shot against Upamecano! The shot rebounds to Choupo-Moting and the striker quickly swivels before firing a low shot narrowly wide from eight yards!
23' The hosts break quickly again, but a promising move falls apart as Goretzka steals it from Mukiele.
21' It's been a cagey game so far, but Bayern have been lacking fluency in particular. Leipzig, on the other hand, have managed to control the game without creating many chances.
20' Nkunku clips in a delightful cross for Forsberg, but the attacker can't quite stretch to tap it in at the back post. However, the goal wouldn't have counted anyway, with a late offside call being made.
18' Nkunku races in behind Sule, before absorbing a push in the back to earn a free-kick. The resulting delivery falls to Sabitzer on the edge of the box, but he blasts his volley well over the bar.
15' Gulacsi feebly punches a corner straight into Choupo-Moting, but the striker can't react quickly enough and the goalkeeper gathers the ricochet.
13' Alaba's angled pass through to Muller is too powerful and it drifts away for a goal kick.
11' Mukiele is down with a head injury but after a brief delay he's judged to be okay to continue.
9' It'll be interesting to see just how much Bayern miss Lewandowski today. The striker has already scored 35 goals in the Bundesliga this season - netting against every team apart from Leipzig. If the visitors can overcome his absence today they'll be feeling extremely confident for the rest of the campaign.
7' Both teams have made a tentative start, with neither side daring to open themselves up to conceding the first goal.
5' Coman goes down in the area under a challenge from Orban, but the linesman quickly calls the play back for offside.
3' Leipzig make a bright start as Mukiele swings in a dangerous cross that narrowly evades the run of Sabitzer.
1' Bayern get the first half underway.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
