Commentary

That's all from us, we'll see you for the next game. Until then, it's goodbye.
That 2-0 win sees Portugal rocket clear of the chasing pack. The Group A2 leaders are two points clear of Spain on seven points, and have a goal difference of +6. The Czech Republic drop to third following Spain's 1-0 win over Switzerland, but it's Portugal in pole position to qualify for the final stages of the Nations League, albeit with plenty of football still to play.
Guedes had a team-high three shots in the game, recording an xG of 0.73 and scoring Portugal's second goal with his only effort on target. He also made four crosses from open play, having six touches in the box and winning two fouls. Enigmatic.
The full-time whistle goes, and Portugal see out their 2-0 lead to seal the three points! The Czechs offered more in the second half, but did little to really test Costa, and whilst Portugal weren't as clinical as in the first 45 minutes, they more than deserved the victory which sees them extend their lead at the top of Group A2. Goalscorers Cancelo and Guedes were outstanding throughout, as Portugal impressed with Qatar on the horizon.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: PORTUGAL 2-0 CZECH REPUBLIC.
90' + 3' Moutinho tees up Cancelo for a cross from the right, but he's dispossessed by Jemelka after initially beating the Czech left-back.
90' + 1' After Costa punches a Czech Republic free-kick clear, Leao surges forward at breakneck speed, but his cut-back upon entering the box is cleared by Zima!
90' We're into three minutes of added time to close out this game.
João Cancelo
Yellow Card
89' Cancelo clips the heels of Vlkanova late, and is penalised and booked by the referee.
João Moutinho
Rúben Neves
88' Neves is also withdrawn late on, and is replaced by his Wolverhampton Wanderers team-mate Joao Moutinho.
João Palhinha
Gonçalo Guedes
88' Guedes comes off to a standing ovation having scored and been top-class all game, as he's replaced by Joao Palhinha.
Rafael Leão
Yellow Card
87' Leao tugs Coufal back as the Czech wing-back looks to spray a pass across field, and is booked by the referee as a result.
87' Fernandes looks to play in Ronaldo, but Brabec calmly steps in to win possession cleanly and pass back to his goalkeeper.
86' WIDE!!! Costa's pass out to Neves put him under all sorts of pressure and Vlkanova steals possession. He's one-on-one with the keeper, but can only fire his shot into the side netting!
84' Another wayward pass out the back from the visitors is pounced on by Guedes, and he again finds Fernandes but his cross is inaccurate and Sadliek intercepts.
82' Guedes steams into a 50-50 with Jurecka and loses out, but Fernandes picks up the pieces and crosses into the box, but Brabec heads behind for a Portugal corner.
81' Jemelka's hospital pass to Brabec is cut out by Guedes, who forces a corner via a deflection off the Czech centre-back.
A. Král
A. Matějů
80' The Czechs make their latest change, bringing off the booked Mateju for Alex Kral, to add some extra attacking impetus.
Rafael Leão
Diogo Jota
80' Jota is the next Portugal forward to come off, having also impressed, and recent Serie A winner Rafael Leao comes on in his place.
78' Fernandes attempts to put Ronaldo in behind with a well-weighted throughball, but it hits his captain's heel and bounces back into Czech possession.
76' The Czechs come forward in numbers as Coufal is put into space down the right. He looks to cross, but a deflection off Guerreiro takes it behind for a corner.
74' Jota's throughball is well kept in by Guedes, but his cut-back to Vitinha on the edge of the box is intercepted and cleared by Soucek.
A. Vlkanova
A. Hložek
73' Hlozek's been feeding off scraps, and comes off now for Adam Vlkanova to hopefully have some better luck.
72' Cancelo links up with Fernandes, but is caught in a foot-race with Jemelka for the return ball, which the Czech substitute wins as he puts the ball into touch.
70' SAVED!! Vitinha finds Fernandes, who puts Ronaldo into space. He shoots from the left side of the box, but it's a tame effort that Stanek can hang onto!
Bruno Fernandes
William Carvalho
68' Carvalho is also withdrawn, and is replaced in midfield by Bruno Fernandes.
Vitinha
Bernardo Silva
68' Silva comes off having run the show for Portugal so far, and he'll be replaced by Vitinha in the hosts' first change.
66' CHANCE!!! Guerreiro crosses low into the box, and after a slight touch from Jota it falls to Guedes. He shapes to shoot, but in slides Sadilek to scythe the ball away! Guedes goes down in the challenge and claims a penalty, but the referee disagrees!

63' Guedes is put into space by Danilo and fizzes the ball across the face of goal, but there's no-one there to meet it and the ball goes out for a throw.
61' SAVED!!! Cancelo's cross from the right floats over everyone before Jota picks it up. He cuts inside two challenges before firing a shot from the penalty spot, and Stanek reacts well to parry it away from goal!
60' WIDE!!! From a Portugal corner, the Czechs race forward on the counter and Hlozek feeds Jurecka. He smashes a shot from the right-side of the box, beating Costa but finding only the side netting!
59' The visitors have started this half in much brighter fashion than they finished the first, averaging 48.5 per cent possession so far and winning 57.1 per cent of their duels, compared to just 34.6 per cent and 48 per cent in the first half respectively.
57' Jemelka links up with Hlozek and continues his run looking for the return ball, but Pepe steps in to intercept and surge up the field for Portugal.
55' Carvalho finds Guedes in space, and he in turn attempts to put Ronaldo through on goal, but his pass is too heavy and rolls on through to Stanek.
53' Cancelo was at his best in the first half for Portugal, scoring the opener with his only shot, as well as having four touches in the Czech box, four completed dribbles, and winning possession twice. Marauding.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Yellow Card
52' Ronaldo wildly slides into Jemelka and catches him late, picking up a deserved booking from the referee.
50' Hlozek does well to intercept a back-pass from Guedes, but play is brought back as Jemelka is judged to have fouled the Portugal winger.
48' Hlozek cuts inside from the left before spreading it wide to Coufal, but his cross is put behind by Guerreiro for a Czech corner.

The sides are back out on the pitch, and can the visitors do anything to rescue this game in the second half to keep pace with Portugal?
Silva set up both of Portugal's first half goals, and completed four key passes. He's maintaining the highest passing accuracy of all Portugal's players, and has won the ball four times in open play. Conductor.
The first half comes to an end, with that quick two-goal flurry by Portugal being the difference to far! After a cagey start, Portugal stepped up a gear to pepper the Czechs with chance after chance, with Cancelo eventually finding the net on 33 minutes. Another goal from Guedes five minutes later doubled the lead, and as it stands, Portugal are sitting pretty at the top of Group A2.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: PORTUGAL 2-0 CZECH REPUBLIC.
45' + 1' CHANCE!!! Portugal flood forward again as Silva feeds Ronaldo on the right. He takes on the defence before attempting a cross, but it's tipped onto the post and out by Stanek!
45' Silva hits Sadilek late and brings the Czech midfielder to the floor, gifting the visitors a late chance to cross into the box.
43' Forward come Portugal again, as Neves feigns shooting before spreading the ball wide to Guedes. He feeds Cancelo, but he can't find a red shirt with his cross, and Brabec puts it behind for a corner.
42' Jota clips the heels of Coufal as he looks to advance beyond halfway, and the Czechs win a free-kick.
40' That's two assists for Silva in quick succession, and having both come down the right-hand side, it looks like whichever side of the field Silva is one, will be a prosperous one for Portugal.
Bernardo Silva
Assist
38' If the ball from Neves to Silva didn't split the defence enough, the pass from Silva to Guedes left Stanek all on his own, and he couldn't adjust himself in time to keep Guedes' shot out! Two goals in just five minutes for the hosts.
Gonçalo Guedes
Goal
38' GOOOAAALLL!!! Portugal have another!!! A brilliant Neves pass finds Silva in space, who puts Guedes through on goal. He's still got a lot to do, but slides a shot beyond the reach of Stanek and it rolls into the far corner to make it 2-0 to the hosts!
37' That goal was testament to Portugal's dominance of this game so far - the hosts have maintained 66.8 per cent possession, and their 317 passes more than double the 144 made by the Czechs.
A. Matějů
Yellow Card
35' Mateju sticks out an arm to keep Guedes away from the ball, and is booked by the referee for catching the Portugal winger in the face.
Bernardo Silva
Assist
33' A goal made in Manchester, as City team-mates Silva and Cancelo linked up for that goal. The reverse pass from Silva was exquisite, but the under-lapping run and finish from Cancelo was simply superb.
João Cancelo
Goal
33' GOOOAAALLLL!!! The home side strike first!!! Cancelo takes an inside pass and surges into the box, before smashing a shot beyond Stanek and into the far corner!!! 1-0 to Portugal, and their marauding right-back is the man to break the deadlock!
33' Ronaldo skilfully beats Sadilek before the ball flicks up wildly into the path of Silva, whose attempted bicycle kick is hoofed away by Soucek!
32' Kuchta has scored in both games played in this edition of the UEFA Nations League — his only goals for the national team.
31' The outswinging corner is aimed at Soucek, but is headed away from goal. Coufal arrives to smash a shot on the volley, but floats it well wide of the intended target.
31' SAVED!! Hlozek does well to control a long ball and cut inside, beating three Portuguese defenders before feeding Kuchta. He shoots first-time, and the drilled effort is tipped around the near post by Costa!
29' Cancelo chests down a diagonal ball and races towards the box. He feeds Silva, but his left-footed cross into the danger area finds only the head of Zima.
27' Cancelo whips in a cross that Stanek only partially deals with, and it comes back out to Carvalho before Brabec eventually clears!
26' Portugal have lost only one of their 14 games in the UEFA Nations League — a 1-0 defeat against France in November 2020 during the previous edition of the competition.
T. Souček
Yellow Card
24' Soucek took Jota out late as the Portugal winger passed to Ronaldo during that move, and following the shot, the Czech Republic captain is booked by the referee.
24' WIDE!!! After soaking up a sustained period of Czech pressure, Portugal flood forward on the counter and Ronaldo jinks into the box. He shoots on his left foot, but the arriving Zima forces him wide and he blazes it beyond the near post!
22' After Neves is pinged for a foul, the Czechs look to play a quick ball forward to Havel, but the wing-back is caught offside.
20' Brabec shunts Guerreiro over the near-side touchline to concede a free-kick, giving Portugal another good crossing chance.
18' A Portugal corner is passed back to Cancelo, whose cross from deep is missed by Stanek before Pepe does the same with an attempted flying volley!
17' OVER!!! Coufal does well to keep the ball away from Pepe and crosses to the far post. Hlozek heads the ball back into the six-yard box, where Sadilek arrives late and volleys just over the bar!
16' The corner is headed away as far as Silva, who feigns shooting before finding Ronaldo. He does cut inside and shoots, but in a crowded box Stanek is easily able to hold it.
15' BLOCKED!!! After Coufal clips Jota late, Guerreiro swings in the free-kick, which is met by Carvalho at the back post. He volleys the ball back towards goal, but Mateju gets in the way to send it behind for a corner!
13' Silva dribbles to the edge of the box and attempts to play in Ronaldo, but it's intercepted by Havel and the visitors can counter.
12' The last game between these two teams was at UEFA Euro 2012, when Portugal won 1-0 in the quarter-finals thanks to a goal from Ronaldo.
10' WIDE!!! Guerreiro lays the ball off to Neves, who has a pop from 25 yards, dragging his low effort just wide of the post!
8' Ronaldo is sandwiched between Havel and Mateju just outside the box, with the resultant ball going behind for a Portugal corner.
6' Cancelo attempts to pick out his Manchester City team-mate Silva with a chipped reverse ball, but the midfielder can't control it and the ball goes behind for a goal kick.
5' These sides have met three times, with the only Czech victory coming at Euro '96 thanks to Karel Poborsky's famous scooped lob.
William Carvalho
Yellow Card
3' Carvalho barrels into Kuchta in mid-air, taking out the Czech forward with a stray forearm and picking up an early booking for his troubles.
1' The visitors kick off, and we're underway in this Nations League clash!
The two sides head onto the pitch, and we're ready for kick-off here in Lisbon!
Jan Kuchta’s 66th minute goal looked to have won it for the Czechs against Spain until very late on, and the Lokomotiv Moscow forward spearheads the visitors’ attack once again, hoping to have similar damage on La Roja’s Iberian neighbours.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 116th and 117th international goals in his side’s 4-0 win over Switzerland, and the Portugal captain starts up front for his 189th cap, alongside fellow scorers William Carvalho and Joao Cancelo.
