Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
Newcastle travel to Goodison Park to face Everton next, while Chelsea host Arsenal.
There goes the full-time whistle! Newcastle snatch all three points with a dramatic late winner from Hayden, who glanced home from Saint-Maximin's cross deep into injury time. Chelsea enjoyed 70% of the ball and took 19 shots, but were unable to find a way past the Magpies' stubborn rearguard and ultimately paid the price! It finishes 1-0 to Newcastle!
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: NEWCASTLE UNITED 1-0 CHELSEA
A. Saint-Maximin
Assist
90' + 4' Saint-Maximin put in a cross with plenty of pace and quality and allowed Hayden to simply glance it goalwards, using the pace of the delivery to his advantage.
I. Hayden
Goal
90' + 4' GOAL!!! NEWCASTLE HAVE SURELY WON IT!!! The initial corner is cleared only as far as Saint-Maximin on the left and he swings a cross back into the middle, where Hayden gets behind Rudiger to head past Kepa and in! The goalkeeper should do better as the effort is close to him and he managed to get a touch. It's 1-0 to Newcastle!
90' + 3' Newcastle earn their first corner of the game after strong work from Joelinton. They can hold the ball up for the final minute of the game now if they choose to.
90' + 1' Hudson-Odoi cuts in off the left and tries to bend one into the top corner, but doesn't get it right and sends the shot high and wide.
89' Kante drifts into space on the edge of the box but declines to shoot as a gap opens up for him. Instead, he tries to spark an intricate move into the area, but it doesn't come off and is hacked clear.
87' WIDE! Newcastle work the ball around well in Chelsea's half, with Matty Longstaff switching to Hayden on the right. The cross comes in and Saint-Maximin heads down for Joelinton, but the striker slices wide!
M. Longstaff
J. Shelvey
85' Shelvey departs as Bruce makes his final change, bringing Matty Longstaff on to partner his brother in midfield.
Emerson
Yellow Card
84' Emerson tries to buy a penalty, going down under no contact in the box and is rightly booked for simulation.
83' CLOSE! Willian drives down the right and fires a low cross into the box. It's deflected out to Emerson, who smacks it first-time and sends a fierce effort just past the top corner!
82' Hudson-Odoi dinks a cross into the box for the run of Batshuayi but it's just a little too high for the substitute and goes behind for a goal-kick,
M. Batshuayi
T. Abraham
80' Abraham makes way for Batshuayi up front as Lampard makes his final change in search of a winner.
79' SAVE! Dubravka hesitates as he comes for a cross towards Abraham and awkwardly palms the striker's header to one side. It's still heading into the net, however, but Ritchie is there to hack away!
77' Chelsea are running out of time to grab a winner. They've had all of the ball and have been steadily probing, but they seem to be lacking the urgency required to sufficiently unsettle the Newcastle defence and find the net.
Emerson
R. James
75' Natural left-back Emerson is the man to come on for James, allowing Azpilicueta to go to right-back.
74' James has gone down off the ball again and it appears he has been unable to shake off that ankle injury. He will have to be replaced.
73' MISS! Abraham prods the ball past an onrushing Dubravka, but the angle is very tight and the striker ends up booting a shot straight behind for a goal-kick!
S. Longstaff
E. Krafth
71' Krafth is replaced by a midfielder in Sean Longstaff by Bruce, seeing Hayden go out to fill in on the right of the defence.
70' James appears to have rolled his ankle and is down receiving treatment. He limps to the sidelines but looks like he will be able to return to the fray.
R. Barkley
M. Mount
68' Mount trudges off for Barkley in Lampard's first change of the night. He's not had his finest game in a Chelsea shirt, with a few poor decisions made.
66' Jorginho tries to curl an effort towards goal from the edge of the box but it's blocked comfortably away. Chelsea have taken plenty of shots, but a few too many have been from range.
65' Newcastle try to break through Joelinton, but he can't switch the ball to Saint-Maximin and is dispossessed, being forced to settle for a throw.
63' Chelsea's momentum is stalled somewhat as they give away a couple of cheap free-kicks.
61' CHANCE! Hudson-Odoi crafts an excellent opportunity down the right, finding Abraham at the near post, but the striker fires awkwardly over the bar from close range!
60' Shelvey is the latest player to attempt a speculative strike from distance and his tame strike bounces off the turf and into the grateful grasp of Kepa. That's Newcastle's first shot on target in this game.
59' Azpilicueta has certainly not been shy about shooting from his inverted full-back position and takes on another effort from outside the box that is blocked away.
58' Kante sweeps an effort at goal from outside the box but it lacks conviction and is an easy take for Dubravka.
56' Chelsea try a free-kick routine, with James passing it short to Jorginho, who tries to feed Christensen down the right, but the ball ends up out of play and the chance is wasted.
I. Hayden
Yellow Card
55' Hayden now picks up a yellow card for a clumsy challenge on Mount, giving Chelsea a free-kick in a very promising position.
54' SAVE! Willian works some space on the left and squares it to Mount, who helps it on for Azpilicueta on the edge of the box. The defender strikes it first-time, and it's a firm effort, but it's a little too central and Dubravka can hold on.
52' WIDE! Chelsea continue to spurn opportunities! Mount carries the ball down the right and eventually sweeps it across to Willian, who meets it in the middle. He then takes his man on to work a yard and fires a left-footed effort towards the far corner, but drags it wastefully wide!
50' Newcastle enjoy a rare spell of possession but it's given away cheaply in their own half and Abraham leads the charge with two to his left. He feeds Mount, who should use Willian on the outside, but dallies on the ball and the chance is lost as the hosts regroup.
48' Willian cuts infield from the left and strikes a low effort towards goal from the edge of the box, but it's blocked away.
47' Newcastle are unbeaten in their last seven home league games when level at half time (W4 D3) since a 1-0 loss against Arsenal on the opening day of the season.
46' We're back under way for the second half!
The Blues have enjoyed 72% of the ball in the first half despite being away from home, but just haven't found a way past a stubborn Newcastle unit and will need to be more clinical in the second period. The hosts, on the other hand, will be happy to continue ceding possession if that allows them to retain their compact shape and frustrate their opponents.
There goes the half-time whistle! It's level at the break and, despite Chelsea's dominance, both sides have had their chances, with Joelinton and Abraham denied by the bar. It remains goalless at St. James' Park at half-time.
45' + 5' HALF-TIME: NEWCASTLE UNITED 0-0 CHELSEA
45' + 4' Newcastle are furious with the referee for calling back their quickly-taken free-kick, as Fernandez's pass released Joelinton in acres of space behind the Chelsea defence. However, the ball was rolling when the free-kick was taken.
45' + 2' Willian plays Azpilicueta down the left but the latter's cross is deflected straight back to the Brazilian, who thumps a left-footed effort into the mix that is hacked awkwardly over the bar by Ritchie for a corner!
45' There will be five minutes of added time at the end of the first half following the treatment required by both Willems and Hayden.
43' Mount has been getting into good areas but things aren't quite coming off for him. He's played in down the left but slips as he crosses it and skews it behind.
41' Kante's bursting runs forward are causing Newcastle plenty of problems as Chelsea pile on the pressure, but the Blues have yet to capitalise on this strong spell.
39' OVER! Mount rises highest to meet Hudson-Odoi's cross in the box but can only steer over the bar from close range!
37' Shelvey swings an excellent free-kick into the box that Fernandez gets his head on, but the effort is skewed high and wide.
35' SAVE! Kante bursts into space down the right and fires a low effort towards the near post, but Dubravka spreads himself well to make the save!
33' CROSSBAR! Willian curls a cross in that Kante heads on superbly for Abraham, who produces a clever flicked effort that beats Dubravka, but pings out off the crossbar! Hudson-Odoi then has his follow-up effort blocked, but the flag then goes up for offside.
31' No Premier League side has made more first-half substitutions this season than Newcastle (5).
29' Abraham puts an end to the Blues' patient, possession play and takes on a very speculative shot from distance, but it's miles over the bar.
27' Newcastle think they are away after Saint-Maximin skips past James and surges forward down the left before sliding it through for Almiron, who is being held back but nothing is given!
25' Chelsea are enjoying a sustained spell in possession as Newcastle struggle to get out, but the Blues are finding it difficult to break the Magpies down.
23' Chelsea have dominated the ball so far, but that effort from Joelinton is the closest either side has come.
21' CROSSBAR! Krafth swings in a superb cross from the right that Joelinton rises highest to meet in the box, but his powerful header clatters back out off the crossbar and is hacked clear by James!
19' Saint-Maximin cuts inside from the left and swings at the ball, but ends up slicing an awful shot miles off-target. That really was a dreadful effort.
17' Hayden is now down holding his ankle after an awkward challenge, but it looks like he will be try to run it off and stay on the pitch for the moment at least.
16' Hudson-Odoi chases a long ball forward to the edge of the box, but Dubravka comes out to claim. However, he makes a real mess of it and slaps the ball awkwardly to one side instead of making what looked like an easy catch!
14' Mount gets down the left after Kante wins the ball high up the field and flashes the ball across the face of goal. Abraham was available to cut the ball back for, however, and perhaps was the better option.
M. Ritchie
J. Willems
12' Willems has his face in his hands as he is stretchered off, with Ritchie coming on to replace him at left wing-back.
10' Willems is down after a coming-together with Hudson-Odoi and he slams the ground in frustration. It's his knee and he immediately signals to the bench. It doesn't look like he will be able to continue.
8' Azpilicueta pops up in the inside-left channel and strikes a firm, low drive at goal, but it's blocked away inside the box.
7' Chelsea earn a couple of corners, but can't capitalise on either of them as Rudiger sees a header blocked from close-range and Newcastle eventually diffuse the danger.
5' The ball is swung to the back post for Saint-Maximin to head, but the angle is tight and he can only find the side-netting. Perhaps he should have looked to go back across goal.
3' The opening stages of this one have been rather scrappy, with several Chelsea fouls in midfield breaking up the game.
1' We're under way at St. James' Park!
Despite having the joint-second highest points tally away from home in the Premier League this season (22), Chelsea have kept just one clean sheet on the road this term, conceding 19 goals in their 11 games.
Newcastle have taken just four points from their last eight Premier League games against Chelsea (W1 D1 L6), losing each of their last three meetings in a row. Additionally, Bruce has won just one of his 22 Premier League games against the Blues (D5 L16). In home games, Bruce is winless in 10 games against Chelsea (D2 L8), the joint-most games without winning against an opponent at home in the Premier League.
Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard, on the other hand, makes just one alteration to the Blues side that beat Burnley 2-0 last weekend. Barkley finds himself on the bench as he's replaced by the returning Kante in midfield, but the visitors are otherwise unchanged.
Steve Bruce retains just five players from Newcastle's last outing - a 4-1 FA Cup replay win over Rochdale. Krafth, Lascelles, Hayden, Almiron and Joelinton are the quintet to keep their places in the side as six changes are made.

Chelsea XI (4-3-3): Kepa Arrizabalaga; Reece James, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta; N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mason Mount; Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham, Willian.

Newcastle United XI (5-4-1): Martin Dubravka; Emil Krafth, Federico Fernandez, Jamal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Jetro Willems; Miguel Almiron, Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey, Allan Saint-Maximin; Joelinton.
Newcastle will be hoping to earn themselves some valuable points to maintain their distance from the relegation zone, while Chelsea will be seeking to consolidate their Champions League place and fend off any competitors.
