MUMBAI CITY FC:
Key Players: Achille Emana, Balwant Singh, Everton Santos
DELHI DYNAMOS FC:
Injured: Kalu Uche, Albino Gomes
Key Players: Guyon Fernandez, Paulinho Diaz, Matias Mirabaje
The Islanders , on a high after their victory in the away match against NorthEast United, will look to clinch all three points on Friday evening when they take on a beleaguered Delhi Dynamos. Strengthened by the return of midfielders Sehnaj Singh from suspension and Leo Costa from injury, Alexandre Guimaraes will have a full-strength squad at his disposal at the Mumbai Football Arena this weekend.
The brilliance of Achille Emana in the midfield coupled with the productivity of Balwant Singh upfront means that visitors Delhi Dynamos can’t afford to have a slow start or an off day in Mumbai. However, the defensive line of the Mumbai-based outfit could be put to test when they come against likes of Matias Mirabaje and Jeroen Lumu.
As for Delhi Dynamos, who will yet again miss head coach Miguel Angel Portugal on the sidelines, the need to tighten the defence will be a priority in order to avoid leaking goals. They will be relieved with the return of Gabriel Cichero in central defense, who will play on Friday having served his suspension period.
In the attack, the onus will be wingers Romeo Fernandes and Jeroen Lumu to build chances, while striker Guyon Fernandez will be expected to improve his finishing by several notches in the absence of the injured Kalu Uche.
Having already suffered the longest losing run (five losses) throughout the history of the tournament, the visiting side will be desperate to bring an end to their misery in the financial capital on Friday.
Will they be able to do that or will Mumbai pile more misery of the Lions?
