Commentary

That's all for now though, goodbye!
By winning this clash, Juventus move ahead of Inter into top spot in Serie A. Nevertheless, the hosts won't be hugely discouraged; they stood up well to the challenge of the reigning champions and could easily have drawn or even stolen a victory.
Well, that was a great game where Juventus just had the extra experience to secure a tight win. The first half was a breathless affair, which began with Dybala firing a cracking shot across Handanovic and into the far corner. However, Inter quickly equalised from the spot to go into half time level. After withstanding an early Juventus storm in the second half, the hosts looked poised to take the lead after Vecino and Martinez both came close. However, the away side struck late on with Higuain's assured finish capping a wonderful team move. From there, Inter attacked aggressively but couldn't quite force an equaliser.
90' + 5' FULL TIME: Inter 1-2 Juventus
90' + 3' Politano swings in a hopeful cross from the right which D'Ambrosio glances a couple of yards wide of the far post. Inter are running out of time, but they're still creating openings to equalise.
90' + 1' The referee adds on four minutes of stoppage time.
N. Barella
Yellow Card
90' Barella is booked for simulation after going down easily from a challenge on the edge of the area.
90' Inter find themselves in a promising three-on-three situation, but Lukaku can't quite supply Politano with the perfect final pass and the move breaks down.
89' Barella's at the heart of Inter's efforts to get back into this one. On this occasion, he beats his man on the left before clipping a cross into Lukaku, who can't quite control his volley.
M. Vecino
Yellow Card
88' Vecino is booked for a late challenge - perhaps born out of frustration - on Pjanic in the middle.
87' Szczesny denies Vecino! Barella cuts inside from the right before playing a reverse pass through to Vecino who can't quite beat the onrushing Juventus goalkeeper! Szczesny was wonderfully alert there to react to the danger in time.
M. Pjanić
Yellow Card
85' Pjanic now joins Can in the book, after tripping Barella after he was dispossessed.
E. Can
Yellow Card
84' Can is booked for a cynical challenge that prevented Inter from counter-attacking.
82' Inter have to somehow muster an equaliser now. Just as they'd started to control the game and look more likely to score, they get hit by an incisive move at the other end.
R. Bentancur
Assist
80' Bentancur received a pass from Pjanic and showed the vision to immediately tap the perfect ball with the outside of his foot through to Higuain! A pass to match a really intelligent run in behind the defence.
G. Higuaín
Goal
80' Juventus take the lead! 2-1! A quick, one-touch move ends with Bentancur slipping Higuain through on goal with a delightful pass and the striker holds off a defender before slotting his finish underneath Handanovic! A fine team goal!
M. Politano
Lautaro Martínez
78' Martinez makes way after a tireless display, with Politano replacing him.
77' Vecino - who's been incredibly lively since coming on - feeds Martinez on the edge of the area, who spins and slams a low shot that gets deflected a few yards wide for a corner.
75' Strong Juventus appeals for a penalty now! Ronaldo cuts it back from the byline to Higuain who dummies to shoot, allowing the ball to roll to Bentancur who seems to be felled by Brozovic as he fires. However, the referee once again doesn't award a spot-kick and VAR isn't consulted.
73' Lukaku bustles his way down the right-wing, before measuring a cross beyond the back post to Vecino, who takes a touch and blazes a volley comfortably over the bar.
E. Can
P. Dybala
71' Dybala makes way for Can, as Juventus look to solidify a touch after a period where Inter have been in the ascendancy.
70' Ronaldo goes close at the other end now! Higuain does excellently to hold off a mass of defenders before sliding a pass to Ronaldo out wide on the left. The Portuguese attacker sizes up the defender before whipping a powerful shot at the near post, that Handanovic does well to push clear.
68' Inter hit the post! After a well-worked passing move, Vecino hits a curling effort from 25 yards which deflects off De Ligt and spins agonisingly in towards goal, however it doesn't quite swril enough and it glances off the outside of the post and behind.
66' More shouts for a penalty for Inter as Bonucci muscles Lukaku away from a dangerous throughball. This one looks like a more certain appeal, the referee remains unmoved.
64' Martinez wriggles skillfully past a few Juventus tackles, but just as space opens up to slip Asamoah in behind, he opts to try and beat another man and Alex Sandro manages to slide in and dispossess the striker.
63' Inter cry out for a penalty after Lukaku falls under De Ligt's challenge, but replays show that the Dutch defender managed to poke the ball away.
G. Higuaín
F. Bernardeschi
62' Higuain comes on for Bernardeschi in a move that will see Dybala drop back slightly to play in a more withdrawn role, while Higuain will occupy a position up top.
R. Bentancur
S. Khedira
62' Khedira makes way for Bentancur as the away side search for more creativity in the final third.
60' Inter are settling the game down slightly by slowing the tempo of their passing - they're looking more content to pass it laterally than they were in the first period.
58' It's been a slow start to the second half by Inter, with Juventus having the bulk of the chances while carrying much more of a threat. They'll need to arrest this change in momentum quickly to stay in the game.
56' Great save from Handanovic! A cute one-two allows Dybala to race into the box unopposed, but Handanovic rushes out to close down the angle and the attacker can only fire his shot straight at the Inter goalkeeper!
A. Bastoni
D. Godín
54' Godín makes way for Bastoni at the back, in a change that you wouldn't have thought Inter would be keen to make. The experienced defender has only just returned from a thigh injury, which could perhaps explain this change.
53' Alex Sandro lays a pass back to Ronaldo, who lets fly from 25 yards, but his shot is sliced slightly and it fizzes well wide of the far post.
51' The hosts would be able to equal a club record if they could find a way to win today. Inter have won each of their first six Serie A games this season: only in the 1966/67 campaign have they surpassed this - they went on to win their first seven.
49' Bernardeschi forces a strong save! Juventus have been keeping the ball well so far in this half and another fine move culminates with Bernardeschi shaping a curling effort from 20 yards that prompts Handanovic to leap acrobatically to his right and claim.
47' Pjanic and Bernardeschi perform a smart interchange that allows the former to take a shot from 20 yards, but Godin's on hand to block the effort immediately.
45' Inter get us underway for the second half.
The second period's set up perfectly, too. Both sides look desperate to win, and at 1-1 we can expect more of the same end-to-end, fiery football.
Well, this game's been everything you could have hoped for so far! In an electric start, Juventus took the lead through Dybala's rasping drive across goal that flew past Handanovic. However, Inter quickly rallied and got an equaliser after De Ligt handled Barella's cross, offering Martinez the chance to fire home from the spot. After that, both teams created plenty of openings, although Juventus have come slightly closer - particularly through Ronaldo's narrowly disallowed goal.
45' + 3' HALF TIME: Inter 1-1 Juventus
45' + 2' Dybala sneakily nutmegs Godin, before going down under his flailing arm in the box. The referee waves away claims for a penalty though, and Inter breakt hrough Lukaku, who can't quite find Martinez with a cross.
45' Bernardeschi shimmies around the box, playing a series of quick passes, before advancing down the left flank and winning a corner. From the set-piece, Juventus fire in a delivery to the near post, but Asamoah is there to head firmly clear.
43' Juventus have a goal disallowed! Ronaldo and Dybala combine to great effect again, this time a clever one-two sets Ronaldo clean through on goal where he fires calmly past Handanovic. However, the linesman has his flag up and despite the celebrations, the goal won't stand!
41' Ronaldo goes close! A well-worked Juventus move ends with Dybala laying a pass off to Ronaldo on the edge of the area and the legendary striker fires off a venomous strike that Handanovic does well to parry away from goal.
39' Both sides have mustered six shots each, and possession is almost evenly split; this first half's been a frantic, well-matched affair.
37' Juventus are sticking to their principles of playing out from the back, despite heavy, relentless pressing from Inter. This nearly provokes a huge mistake at the back as Cuadrado attempts an ill-advised pass across the box, but Martinez can't quite control it and it bobbles through to Alex Sandro.
36' Ronaldo arrows a free-kick towards goal from a tight angle, but his effort's blocked and Juventus continue to build pressure with a well position throw-in.
M. Vecino
S. Sensi
34' Sensi is unable to recover from his earlier knock and he's replaced by Vecino in midfield.
32' Cuadrado jinks past Skriniar but the Inter defender trips him as he goes past, providing Juventus with a free-kick 30 yards from goal. The resulting set-piece drifts over everyone's head and the hosts regroup with a throw-in.
30' Sensi receives treatment after falling awkwardly, but after a brief delay he looks all set to continue for the moment.
28' Great save from Szczesny! Brozovic finds Lukaku with space to turn into and the Inter striker manages to play in Martinez who cracks off a vicious shot from just inside the box, which Szczesny does brilliantly to push out of harm's way.
26' D'Ambrosio races onto a chipped ball over the top and just misses out on the pass to the onrushing Szczesny, before being called back for an offside.
24' Neither Juventus nor Inter had scored in the opening 15 minutes of a Serie A game this season until today. Inter's wait goes on, but it's still surprising to find that both sides have scored in the first 20 minutes!
22' The Inter striker is okay to continue and play resumes with Juventus passing the ball around intently in midfield.
21' Lukaku is now receiving treatment on his torso after taking the full force of that Ronaldo set-piece.
20' Juventus win a free-kick 30 yards out and it appears to be in a prime position for Ronaldo, but his resulting effort slams back off the wall.
Lautaro Martínez
Penalty Goal
18' INTER EQUALISE! 1-1! Martinez steps up and confidently dispatches the spot-kick into the bottom left corner beyond Szczesny's despairing dive.
17' The referee briefly discusses the decision over his headset and decides to go ahead and award the penalty! Martinez is readying to take...
16' Penalty to Inter! Barella swings in another cross and it appears as though De Ligt glanced it clear with his arm! The referee is consulting with VAR now, however.
15' Inter force another corner after Barella has another devious cross headed behind.
Alex Sandro
Yellow Card
13' Alex Sandro is booked for rolling an inactive football onto the pitch as Inter try and take a quick throw-in. That may have been a mistake from the full-back, but it certainly slowed down Inter's plans.
10' Well, it's been a breathless start so far! Both sides are playing crisp, attacking football and are passing through the opposing midfielders at will. You sense that the away side will want to slow this game down soon, having taken an early lead.
8' Inter almost respond! Lukaku and Martinez breakaway on the counter-attack to create a two-on-two. Martinez selflessly opts to slip a pass to Lukaku who tries to engineer room for a shot from eight yards, before Bonucci manages to block his shot!
6' Ronaldo hits the bar! Inter are under pressure early on! This time Ronaldo drifts inside from the left-wing and rides a few challenges, before firing a powerful shot that just clips the bar from the edge of the area!
P. Dybala
Goal
4' JUVENTUS TAKE THE LEAD EARLY ON! 1-0! Pjanic wins back possession on the halfway line, before dinking a perfect throughball into the path of Dybala. The Argentinian is closely marked by Skriniar, but Dybala surprisingly goes for an early shot from a tight angle that rifles across Handanovic and into the far corner from just inside the box! This game's burst into life with a brilliant finish!
M. Pjanić
Assist
4' Pjanic was the architect of that with a perfect clipped pass over the top of Inter's back three to provide Dybala with space to run into.
3' D'Ambrosio and Barella combine pull off a smart interchange down the right-wing, before the former whips in a cross towards Lukaku that Bonucci just gets to first.
2' Inter respond with a quick attack of their own, which ends with Sensi forcing a corner from a blocked cross, but the resulting set-piece is comfortably cleared.
1' Alex Sandro immediately finds space down the left flank and he hammers a cross into the six-yard box, but Skriniar does well to head clear.
1' Juventus get us underway.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
Despite their close proximity in the early table, Inter will need to break a run of dismal form against the away side to claim three points tonight. They’ve won only one of their last 13 Serie A meetings against Juventus - a 2-1 win in September 2016 under Frank de Boer.
Inter make two changes from their midweek defeat to Barcelona, with Alexis Sanchez dropping out after a suspension from last weekend, and Lukaku coming in up top. Juventus make just the one change from their win over Bayer Leverkusen: Higuain is replaced by Dybala at top, as the away side perhaps sense the need for a little more creativity to break down a tough Inter backline.

Hello and welcome to live commentary of this top of the table Serie A fixture between Inter Milan and Juventus. This one is all set to be a hugely exciting affair with the hosts sitting at the top of the league and the away side just behind in second – they’ve dropped just two points between them. Both enter this one off the back of testing European games during the week, but you can expect the two to throw absolutely everything into this clash.
