India play their final Group A game on 14 January against Bahrain at Sharjah. Until then, this is Swapnaneel Parasar signing off. Ciao.
FULL TIME: India 0-2 UAE: Unlucky Blue Tigers go down to the tournament hosts. India had half a dozen chances but good 'keeping and the goalpost deny Stephen Constantine's men all three points.
90' + 3' WOODWORK! Borges floats the ball and Jhingan connects but India will count themselves really really unlucky tonight.
90' + 2' India try to open up wing play late into the game but it is over now for Constantine's men. However, there is a late freekick for Borges to take.
90' + 1' Three minutes added on.
90' That will be it for India tonight as they will go down to the hosts. As it stands, India will be placed second in the group.
89' Salmin lobs the ball from his own half and Mabkhout takes the ball brilliantly, shins it down, beats Kotal on the shimmy and deposits the ball into Gurpreet's net.

73' Frustration growing as Bose goes into the book for a cheap foul on Khalfan.

61' An hour gone, India trail by the solitary goal but they have been posing quite a few dangerous questions for the tournament hosts.
59' Ashique on the run and Bandar comes out with a top effort that sees the ball go out for a corner. Indian fans raise the decible levels here in Abu Dhabi.
58' OVER! Sunil Chhetri from 23 yard out takes the freekick and the ball does not dip in. Failed chance.
57' Indian fans cheer as Thapa goes to the ground and the Blue Tigers have a freekick with Salmin the guilty party.
55' WOODWORK! Jeje slices it to Udanta and then a one-two back from Chhetri and the winger takes the shot which rattles the crosspiece from the exact spot from where Khalfan scored in the first half. Unlucky!
53' MISSED! Thapa swings the ball and Khalifa blocks on the wall. Jeje chests the ball down on the edge of the box and goes for a similar shot from which he scored a goal in the last game. His volley goes looping out off target.
52' Game resumes after Khalfan has been attended to as he seems to have a bloody nose. UAe back on the ball and now Pronay wins a freekick from range for India.

37' POSSESSION STATS: India - 32% UAE - 68% as of now.:
36' What a continual duel this! Saleh and Udanta are firing up the near flank and this time the Indian youngster wins as he forces the Al Sharjah man to gift a goal kick.
34' UAE now have a freekick from 40 yards out as Khalfan and Amer are on the ball. Hali heads it out for a corner.
32' Bandar fails to control and Narzary wins it. Chhetri gets the ball and passes it forward to Ashique but has too much meat on it. On the counter, India fall back into defence quickly and frustrate Esmaeel to take a skier from 30 yards out. India on top.
30' Half anf hour gone at UAE's national stadium. It is still goalless as Al Abyad continue to find the one opening they can capitalise on.
29' Oops! Halder takes a swipe from distance from the corner played back into space. It was off target but Ismail clips the ball with his legs but Eisa collects before a frozen Jhingan could thaw himself and pounce on the opportunity.
28' Chhetri triggers Ashqiue from near the centre line and the lanky Ismail makes the sliding tackle and how well! Goes for a corner.
27' Saleh cuts it for Hammadi and Kotal tries to intercept but it is wayward. Gurpreet lets it bounce in a dangerous area and catches it with some harsh words for the India fullback.
26' India have a long freekick and the ball is dipped into the box. Eisa comes way off and collects it just near Chhetri who wishes it was a spill!
25' Al Hammadi gets the ball, wriggles around and squeezes his way near the box. Anas will have none of his nonsense as he slams the ball off and away.
23' SAVED! Udanta has run Saleh ragged and toyed around with him. Gives it back to Thapa and the cross into the box is headed by Chhetri but Eisa makes a wonderful save.
21' Bandar crosses in for Mabkhout and Kotal comes off with a brilliant block. The ball goes back for the UAE to take a shot again and Mabkhout's attempt is low and wide, not troubling Sandhu much.
20' Twenty minutes gone, India have been the far more dangerous team in attack but UAE have had more of the ball posssession. Scoreline still naught all.
19' Salmin and Amer force Indians to push back into their own half and Thapa does his reputation no harm as he intercepts a through ball for Khalfan near the box. Then, Ashique smartly wins a soft foul.
18' Esmaeel and Saleh push on from the left and Halder gets the ball from a Chhetri interception. He wants to give the ball back to his skipper but it only goes out for a throw-in.
16' UAE firing blanks here. Ali Salmin tries to be over-ambitious and from 40 yards out embarrasses himself infront of his home crowd as the ball lands into Yas Marina.
14' Another weak pass in the UAE midfield results in India giving the chase. Bandar and Khalifa in front of Chhetri and the latter strays and the Indian skipper trips the UAE right back to break play. Quite some intent shown by India here.
13' CLOSE! Corner played short and Thapa flings it into space in the box. Jhingan leaps over Khalifa and heads it inches off target.
12' SAVED! Chhetri intercepts a dodgy pass and releases Ashique on the run. The Pune City man dribbles his heart out and takes a shot from 15 yards, Eisa sticks a hand out!
11' SHOT! Sandhu pots it long and after the ball being chested down, Ashique takes his chance from range with Eisa out of his line. Close shave for UAE!
10' Udanta makes the run to win a throw-in near the UAE box but Kotal's attempt to find Chhetri ends in an interception as Ismail plays it into midfield.
8' MISSED! Thapa swings the corner in and Jhingan has a free header on goal but goes wide. Could have been very close.
7' Udanta does ever so well to drag play near the corner flag and chuck it past the two players. Kotal then wins the corner.
5' Fantastic run from Khalfan as he sights a long ball through. Gets past Bose but the ball was too powerful as Sandhu comes out and collects. High defensive line by India is causing problems.
4' India have a throw-in and Kotal gives it away to Saleh, he passes it back to Eisa with Chhetri guarding him up but the goalkeeper kicks out in time.
2' CHANCE(S)! First, Salmin launches a long ball and Sandhu punches it out. Then, twice has Mabkhout failed to control the ball from a quick release as the Indian defence fail to take shape. Poor start from India.
1' Sloppy from the UAE to start with, Saleh miscues a throw-in, Khalifa holds onto the long ball but gives it away cheaply. Thankfully, the Indians cannot take charge.
1' WE ARE UNDERWAY...
The instrumental renditions of Jana Gana Mana and Ishy Bilady have been played out, pleasantries have been exchanged. Time for kickoff!
The players have walked out into the middle, India in their blue strip while UAE will be in white from top to bottom.
With around twenty minutes to go for kickoff, the stadium is filling in nicely but looks far from a housefull. Both sides are wrapping their warm up drills.
In other news, Jordan become the first team in the tournament to seal progression to the Round of 16s. After beating defending champs Australia 1-0 in their Group B opener, they have blanked Syria 2-0 at Al Ain. In November 2018, India had travelled to Amman to face Jordan where they got beat 2-1 with half of their team not available due to logistical issues. Seems like a million years ago now...
It should not come as a surprise that the 43,000-seater venue is SOLD OUT! for the encounter tonight. Why? Well, more than a quarter of UAE's total population consists of Indian expatriates. Home away from home for the Blue Tigers?
The last meeting between these two sides was way back in 2011 in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier, UAE won 5-2 over both legs with tonight's captain Ismail Al Hammadi on the scoresheet in the home leg. Jeje Lalpekhlua scored in Delhi and he is on the bench tonight.
'Home side' for the game, India have an unchanged starting XI from their last match. Ashique will continue in the free role alongside Sunil Chhetri who has got the armband for tonight, at least. Meanwhile, just the solitary change fro Alberto Zaccheroni as Fares Juma is on the bench and in comes Ismail Ahmed in the left centre back role. Ali Salmin and Khalfan Mubarak, both of whom had a disastrous outing in the opener continue as Ahmed Khalil still can't find a place in the lineup.
UAE XI (4-4-1-1): Khalid Eisa (GK); Bandar Al Ahbabi, Khalifa Mubarak, Ismail Ahmed, Al Hassan Saleh; Ismail Al Hammadi (C), Ali Salmin, Amer Abdulrahman, Khamis Esmaeel; Khalfan Mubarak; Ali Mabkhout.
INDIA XI (4-4-2): Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (GK); Pritam Kotal, Sandesh Jhingan, Anas Edathodika, Subhasish Bose; Udanta Singh, Pronay Halder, Anirudh Thapa, Halicharan Narzary; Sunil Chhetri (C), Ashique Kuruniyan.
The lineups are out...
Things are shaping up quite interestingly in this group. To recap, UAE were held to a 1-1 draw by Bahrain and India thrashed Thailand 4-1 in the opening round. Earlier today, the Thai team, under a new coach pipped out Bahrain 1-0 in Dubai. As it stands before this game, India still top the group with 3 points. Thailand are second, also with three points but an inferior goal difference and have played a game more. UAE have played one and have one point while Bahrain are bottom with just a point off two outings.
