Thanks a lot for joining us and goodbye for now!
Benfica are not back in action until a meeting with Belenenses on Monday, three days before the second leg, while Dinamo host Rijeka 24 hours earlier. That gives them a bit of extra time to prepare for the return match at the Estadio da Luz next Thursday.
It's all over in Croatia and Dinamo have secured an impressive first-leg win over Benfica. Petkovic's 38th-minute penalty proved to be the difference, with Dias having fouled Olmo in the box to present the hosts with an opportunity they did not pass up. Benfica struggled to create openings in their search for an equaliser and will hope to overturn the deficit in Lisbon.
90' + 4' FULL TIME: Dinamo Zagreb 1-0 Benfica.
90' + 3' GREAT TACKLE! Orsic feeds Gavranovic on the edge of the box and the striker takes a touch before attempting to prod into the bottom-right corner. Ferro does enough to get a block in and Situm heads narrowly wide of the near post from the resultant corner.
90' + 2' Cervi's delivery is poor and Gavranovic is there to head away the danger. Dinamo are desperate to start winding down the clock now.
90' + 1' Moro is a bit too keen to beat Grimaldo to the ball and catches the left-back, conceding a free-kick out wide that gives Benfica a chance to put the ball into the box.
90' There will be a minimum of three minutes added on.
89' CHANCE! Stojanovic does well to get past Grimaldo on the right wing and pick out Orsic near the top of the box. He connects with a half-volley that ends up flying harmlessly over the top. That could have been a big moment in this tie if he'd found the back of the net!
M. Gavranović
B. Petković
Dinamo Zagreb
89' Goalscorer Petkovic goes off to a great reception, with Gavranovic coming on in his stead to close out the match.
88' Situm gives the ball away, passing straight to Pires 30 yards from goal. The midfielder takes a shot with his left foot but slips as he does so and fails to get anywhere near the target.
86' Benfica have won just three of their last 11 European away games, losing six.
84' Grimaldo ambitiously goes directly for goal from the free-kick, which is in a central area at least 35 yards out from goal. It bounces just in front of Livakovic but the keeper is able to hold it at the first attempt.
M. Šitum
D. Kądzior
Dinamo Zagreb
84' Dinamo's second change sees Situm replace Kadzior for the final five minutes or so.
I. Šunjić
Yellow Card
Dinamo Zagreb
83' Sunjic is shown a yellow card for taking out Corchia. He went to ground early and caught the defender on his foot. Corchia appeared to be stumbling as he tried to sidestep the midfielder, though.
82' Pires attempts to squeeze a pass through to Grimaldo as the left-back bursts forward, but Stojanovic snuffs it out. Time is running out for Benfica to get an away goal.
81' Rafa whips in a corner from the right but it's flicked beyond everybody in the box. The visitors manage to regain possession quickly but they are unable to find a route through the stern Dinamo defence.
79' Olmo darts down the left wing and gets to the byline in the box. He attempts to drill a low cross in but it's blocked and bounces off him before going behind, giving Benfica a goal-kick.
N. Moro
A. Gojak
Dinamo Zagreb
78' Gojak makes way for Moro in a like-for-like substitution.
77' Rafa dribbles in from the left and feeds Joao Felix. The striker attempts a one-two with Zivkovic but his touch is poor and Dinamo are able to bundle the ball to safety.
P. Stojanović
Yellow Card
Dinamo Zagreb
75' Stojanovic goes into the book for a clumsy tackle on Cervi, with Dinamo trying to win the ball back after giving it away cheaply.
75' Gojak dribbles towards the box but pokes a poor pass to his right in an attempt to tee up a team-mate. There really is very little fluidity to this match.
74' Stojanovic breaks from a corner but lofts his clearance straight up under pressure from Rafa. A poor first touch from the Benfica man hands possession straight back, though, and a chance to exploit the counter-attack vanishes.
72' The game has become very scrappy and Rafa is the latest player to commit a cheap foul, taking Dilaver down inside the Dinamo half. Benfica need to stop giving away free-kicks as they are enabling Dinamo to get out of their half too easily.
A. Živković
Gedson Fernandes
Benfica
71' Zivkovic is sent on by Lage, with Fernandes the man to make way. It's an attacking change for Benfica.
69' The free-kick is swung towards the back post and Dias gets his head to it. However, he's underneath the ball and can only send his effort looping over.
M. Leovac
Yellow Card
Dinamo Zagreb
68' Leovac is shown a yellow card for catching Joao Felix with his elbow when attempting to win the ball. That will rule him out of the return leg.
66' Benfica look to work an opening down the right but a reverse pass from Cervi fails to find a team-mate. In his desire to win the ball back, Dias chops down Petkovic and the referee blows for a foul.
64' Ferro catches Petkovic wide on the right when he really didn't need to, as it looked like the ball was going out of play. Orsic sends the free-kick towards Gojak at the top of the box but he's penalised for a foul on Joao Felix.
62' Pires gives away a needless free-kick with a tackle on Petkovic, relieving the pressure on Dinamo. Benfica have been dominating possession in this half.
Rafa Silva
Florentino Luís
Benfica
58' Benfica make a change with Rafa coming on for Florentino Luis - Bruno Lage is clearly looking for a bit more creativity.
56' The away side are setting up camp in Dinamo's half, looking for that opening to attack. Grimaldo tries to find it with a pass into Cervi on the left flank, but he can't control it and Dinamo win a throw.
54' Benfica are looking to slow this game down with some considered passing between their defenders. It's patient football, but a long pass looking for Felix gives Livakovic a chance to take hold of the ball and start a Dinamo attack.
52' Will Benfica turn this around? The history doesn't bode well as Dinamo are undefeated in their last seven Europa League home matches, qualifiers included. In fact, they’ve only lost once in Zagreb in their last nine European games - a 2-1 defeat against Young Boys in this season's Champions League play-off.
50' Perhaps Dinamo manager Nenad Bjelica had a word with his players at the break as they're now putting the Benfica back four under pressure when they're trying to build play from the back. They need to make sure they press as a unit and they don't leave gaps, but it seems to make their opponents uncomfortable.
48' Dinamo have a chance to counter from the throw and drive up to the Benfica penalty area, but Olmo tries his luck from outside the box and he shoots over.
48' It's a similar rhythm to the first half with Benfica dominating the ball in the early exchanges, but a long Corchia throw into the box is the closest they've come to troubling the Dinamo defenders.
46' We're back in action with Dinamo defending a narrow lead against a Benfica side desperate for an away goal at the very least to take back to Lisbon.
Benfica are undefeated in their previous 11 games in the Europa League - excluding penalty shootouts - last losing 2-1 in the final against Chelsea in 2012-13. They took Sevilla to penalties in the 2013-14 final, drawing 0-0 after extra time, but were ultimately defeated. They're behind against Dinamo with the second half still to play and they really need to create more in the way of chances after just the one shot on target compared to Dinamo's four.
It's not been the most exciting of games so far, with Benfica in control for the most part. They had an excellent chance to take the lead, but Grimaldo's shot was saved. Dinamo responded with a chance of their own, though Vlachodimos tipped Olmo's effort over the bar. But Dinamo were patient and took their next chance when it finally arrived after Olmo was fouled in the box. Petkovic made no mistake from the spot to ensure the home side go into the break with a slender lead.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: DINAMO ZAGREB 1-0 BENFICA.
45' + 1' NEARLY FOR DINAMO! Petkovic sends Gojak through on goal, but Vlachodimos saves his right-footed shot and it dribbles out for a corner to see in the break.
45' Kadzior tries to beat Ferro out wide on the left and successfully draws the foul with not long to go until half-time. The free-kick is cleared, but Dinamo retain the ball.
43' Benfica are countering after a Dinamo possession in the away side's defensive third, but they can't poke the ball through and, again, Dinamo clear and relieve the pressure.
42' Benfica can't let their heads drop now. They're behind, but they were in complete control up until that point. They need to stay composed and keep playing the way they were before conceding, perhaps with a bit more penetration.
40' Benfica hadn't conceded once in their previous three meetings with Dinamo, drawing 0-0 and winning 2-0 in 1980-81, following that up with another 2-0 victory in 2004-05. They're behind in this game, though, after Petkovic's penalty.
B. Petković
Penalty Goal
Dinamo Zagreb
38' 1-0 DINAMO! Petkovic, as cool as you like, tucks his right-footed penalty away to give the home side the lead. The fans are jubilant!
38' PENALTY TO DINAMO! Dias is shaking his head as Oliver points to the spot for a penalty after fouling Olmo! He danced his way through a crowd, Dias clattered him and it was just inside the box, though it was extremely close.
F. Cervi
H. Seferović
Benfica
35' That's Seferovic done unfortunately and Cervi comes on to replace him.
34' Lovely skill from Fernandes on the right to maintain control of possession and the ball is spread to the left, though Dinamo pressure means Benfica have to recycle.
32' Seferovic is down receiving treatment on the pitch. That'll be concercing for the Benfica dugout as the striker has been in excellent form this season.
30' Benfica clear two corners in a row and Olmo sends his shot wide from outside the box after the ball fell kindly for him. It was speculative and he perhaps should have looked to get it back into the box.
29' Grimaldo is absolutely incensed that Michael Oliver has awarded a free-kick for a foul on Kadzior and Dinamo nearly make it count as Vlachodimos has to tip it over the bar for a corner.
27' Orsic seems to be Dinamo's main threat and, once again, he tries to get the ball into the box, but Benfica clear towards Felix. He doesn't keep the ball either and Dinamo are straight back down the other end, resulting in a shot by Kadzior.
25' We're 25 minutes into the game and it's still one shot on target apiece. Given their control, Benfica should be doing much more to trouble Livakovic, though they have come the closest to going ahead with Grimaldo's saved effort.
23' Dinamo do, however, retain the ball momentarily, though they can't for long and give away a throw. Once more, Benfica are in the driving seat.
21' Livakovic catches Grimaldo's corner, launches a ball up the field, but it's straight into Vlachodimos' grateful hands at the other end. Benfica are back in possession, such has been the theme of this game so far.
19' That's not a bad effort from Olmo at all. He's outside the box, but unleashes a fierce right-footed shot and Vlachodimos gets down low to his left and saves at his near post.
18' That possession nearly resulted in another chance as Corchia gets into the box with some skill and crosses across goal, but Felix can't make contact with the ball and Dinamo clear for a corner, though nothing arises from it.
17' Benfica have had the luxury of nearly 70% possession so far this game, but they're pushing extremely high up the pitch and there's a lot of space in behind Grimaldo and Corchia on the flanks. Zagreb will almost certainly have opportunities to counter. Whether they take them is a different matter altogether.
15' Olmo shows off his skill with a few lovely touches in the centre of the pitch and plays Kadzior in, but he's flagged for offside. He thought he was away there.
14' Dinamo are really applying some pressure at present, mainly through Orsic, who tries to fashion another chance for himself, but it's defended and cleared. Benfica now are on the attack.
12' Orsic now charges towards the opposition box after capitalising on some slack Benfica possession, but his right-footed curled shot goes wide of the post. It was never really troubling Vlachodimos.
10' This is actually the fourth time Dinamo and Benfica have met in European competition - twice in the first round of the Cup Winners' Cup in 1980-81 and once more in the group stages of the UEFA Cup in 2004-05.
8' Livakovic makes a brillant save! Grimaldo is sent through on goal by a low through-ball, helped on by a deft touch from Felix and the left-back has an option to his right, but elects to shoot and wastes the chance.
7' Felix uses his body well deep in the Dinamo defensive third and wins a throw, but the home side clear and it's their turn to try and create something.
5' After a positive start from Dinamo, in which they tried to put the Benfica back four under some early pressure, the away side finally have some control and they're building up play nicely, though Corchia's cross is cleared and they have to recycle and start again.
4' Kadzior tried to float in a free-kick from the right, but it doesn't beat the first defender. The ball is sent back to Livakovic, but his kick is wasteful and Benfica now have possession.
2' Benfica, in red, couldn't keep hold of possession from kick-off and Dinamo almost found a route into the box from Livakovic's goal-kick early on, but the final pass let them down after some neat interplay.
1' The music has been played, referee Michael Oliver's whistle has gone and we're underway.
The teams are out and we’re minutes from kick-off in the first leg of this last-16 clash.
Both sides are top of their domestic leagues - Benfica by two points and Zagreb by 14 - and undefeated in their previous five league matches, fuelling them both with confidence ahead of what should be a cracking Europa League tie.
Dinamo starters Orsic and Petkovic both scored and assisted in their 3-0 defeat of Viktoria Plzen in the last round and they’re two of five players to be involved in exactly four goals in this season’s Europa League for the Croatian side.
Petkovic starts up front for the home side and Orsic begins on the left, both of whom scored against Plzen in the 3-0 home win in the previous round, while Dilaver also continues at the back after his goal in the same game. For Benfica, Portuguese Liga top scorer Seferovic continues up front with Felix and the latter will have a spring in his step after a goal against Porto on the weekend. Rafa, who got the winner in Porto, drops to the bench.
BENFICA SUBS: Mile Svilar, Franco Cervi, Yuri Ribeiro, Andrija Zivkovic, Andreas Samaris, Rafa, Joao Filipe.

Benfica, meanwhile, are making their sixth appearance in the Europa League last-16 after eliminating Galatasaray. This is also their 35th game in the competition, the most of any side in the tournament’s history.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Europa League last-16 fixture between Dinamo Zagreb and Benfica.
