Commentary

Both teams now turn their attention to Champions League duty coming up midweek - Barca head to Dortmund while Valencia head to Chelsea. For both of them, the season remains very young. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Barca's victory lifts them to 4th in the LaLiga table on seven points, two behind leaders Atletico Madrid who went down 2-0 away to Real Sociedad earlier. Valencia stay mid-table in 14th, although they surely won't stay there for long. Time for them to put their recent turmoil behind them.
Barcelona repeat the 5-2 result they got into their last home game against Real Betis. The champions blew Valencia away in the early stages of this game, thanks in no small part to the youngster Fati. Valencia edged back into it briefly at the end of the first half and the start of the second, but Barca's quality showed in the end with two great late goals from substitute Suarez. By the time Gomez's late goal came, it was nothing but a consolation.
90' + 3' FULL TIME: BARCELONA 5-2 VALENCIA
D. Cheryshev
Assist
90' + 2' A nice little assist for Cheryshev to end the game, not that it'll mean much. Barca will want to stop conceding late goals though.
M. Gómez
Goal
90' + 2' GOAL! 5-2 VALENCIA! Wass puts in a deep cross for Gomez who's beaten to the header. The ball ends up with Cheryshev, who drills a low cross into the corridor of uncertainty and Gomez pokes it into the net. That'll be the last act of the game.
90' There will be two minutes of added time to end this game. They're welcome but not necessary.
88' Valencia get a token spell on the ball. Cheryshev picks it up just to the left of the box and cuts it back to Lee, whose shot is blocked. Valencia keep the pressure on and Wass blazes over.
86' Valencia's energy levels have dropped off significantly since the start of the second half. You can understand why. They're well beaten and they've got Chelsea away in the Champions League coming up.
D. Cheryshev
Yellow Card
84' Valencia are losing their discipline a little. Cheryshev is next to see yellow for fouling Semedo.
A. Griezmann
Assist
82' Griezmann hasn't had a starring role in this game but he has been crucial in the result. Not a bad day's work.
L. Suárez
Goal
82' GOAL! 5-1 BARCA! Suarez grabs his second! Rakitic's shot from the centre of the box is blocked. It's chipped back in front of goal but there's no Barca man there. Griezmann picks up the pieces and finds Suarez, who smashes it in at the near post from the left of the box. Power and placement at once.
80' Barca are looking menacing again. Lee fouls Busquets as the Barca captain ventures into Valencia's half. It's not worthy of a second booking.
M. Gómez
Yellow Card
78' Gomez is booked for a nasty-looking foul on Lenglet that leaves the Barca centre-back down injured temporarily. He's lucky that isn't a straight red.
77' Garay sends a direct ball to the feet of Lee. Lee lets fly with his left foot from outside the box but ter Stegen is equal to it.
77' Semedo concedes a corner for Valencia. Barca clear. Cheryshev fouls Semedo trying to win the ball back.
75' Busquets fizzes a long range effort towards goal that just misses the top right corner. That would have been the icing on the cake for Barca here.
A. Vidal
Arthur
73' Arthur also gets the last fifteen minutes or so off. Vidal comes on for him.
M. Gómez
Rodrigo
72' Valencia make their last change. Rodrigo, who's faded in the second half, is replaced by Gomez.
I. Rakitić
F. de Jong
70' The result's secure now, so Barca are ringing the changes. de Jong gets a rest. Rakitic replaces him.
Lee Kang-In
Yellow Card
69' Lee picks up a quick booking for a frustrated foul on Perez.
Lee Kang-In
Ferran Torres
67' Next, the 18-year-old South Korean midfielder Lee replaces Torres on the right flank. He's been with Valencia since the age of 10.
D. Cheryshev
Gonçalo Guedes
67' Valencia are making changes, probably too late. First, Cheryshev comes on for Guedes.
65' Arthur has another crack at goal from the outside of the box and Cillessen dives low to keep it out again! He's the only thing keeping Valencia from a battering here. Seconds later, he collects a Suarez effort heading for the bottom right corner.
63' Cillessen is called into action again! De Jong finds Griezmann in the centre of the box, but his shot is saved at point blank range! Arthur's follow-up from the outside of the box rolls tamely to the former Barca keeper.
Arthur
Assist
61' Arthur gets the assist, but that was all thanks to the impudent mind of Suarez. He's still got it.
L. Suárez
Goal
61' GOAL! 4-1 BARCA! Suarez takes seconds to make his mark! The Uruguayan picks up the ball just outside Valencia's box, stops, feints to shoot for the far post and curls a cheeky shot in at the near instead. Shades of Ronaldinho against Chelsea in 2005 in that. Wonderful.
L. Suárez
Ansu Fati
60' Fati gets a standing ovation as he leaves the field. What a promising performance from the 16-year-old. Suarez replaces him.
58' Barcelona probe on the edge of Valencia's box for a minute or two. Valencia have started doubling up on Fati, which is the ultimate compliment for him.
57' Valencia are pressing Barca higher up the pitch in this second half. That could be a dangerous tactic.
55' Semedo hits the inside of the post! The Barca right-back is given too much space by Gaya down the flank and aims a low daisycutter for the far post. It beats Cillessen and bounces back into play! Valencia are living dangerously at the moment.
Jordi Alba
Yellow Card
53' Alba receives a yellow for tugging back Moreno as he surges down the right wing. It's a textbook booking.
Piqué
Goal
51' GOAL! 3-1 BARCA! Barca win a corner off Gaya. Valencia clear. Arthur powers through midfield and passes inside to Griezmann. Cillessen spills Griezmann's shot and it unhelpfully bounces back off the post, and the Barca centre-back is there to finish! Valencia have it all to do again.
50' Fati, temporarily on the right, floats a ball towards Perez lurking at the far post. Wass calmly heads the ball back to his keeper Cillessen.
48' Barcelona start to re-establish the pattern of the first half, as Barca pass around and Valencia sit deep.
46' Valencia start the second half with determination. Gameiro leans back and swings a shot over the bar when Wass finds him in the centre of Barcelona's box. It was a hard chance, to be fair.
46' The second half has begun!
It's hard to know what Valencia can do differently in the second half to pull this level. Now they've got their defence together, they just need to hope that Barcelona leave space at the back and take the opportunities that come their way. That is, of course, if Barcelona don't score first.
That half ended a lot more evenly than it started. Barcelona rushed straight out of the blocks and went 2-0 up in the first seven minutes thanks to a goal and an assist from the astonishing Fati. Valencia have clawed their way back into it, though, after Gameiro's fine finish survived the dreaded VAR check. More to come in the second half!
45' + 2' HALF TIME: BARCELONA 2-1 VALENCIA
45' Griezmann is found by Busquets and floats a shot over the bar from outside the box. Barcelona are finding this game a bit harder now.
44' Barcelona pass and move, looking for an opening. Fati tries to dink a ball over the top. It's headed away. There will be two minutes added on in this first half.
42' The third corner lands to Rodrigo who heads it back across the six-yard box. Ter Stegen collects. Barcelona head back upfield. De Jong cuts a ball back from the right for Perez whose shot is blocked.
40' Valencia win two corners in a row, both conceded by Semedo. They then get a third, this time off Alba.
38' Moreno drags a shot wide from the left of the box after he's fed by Wass. Valencia are growing into this game.
37' A lovely Valencia flick on sets Torres free down the right. He immediately looks across for Gameiro, whose first-time shot is saved by ter Stegen! Shortly after, Gameiro tries an audacious overhead kick and ter Stegen makes himself big to stop it again!
35' Semedo thinks about taking on Gaya but elects to go back. Barcelona rebuild. This time Semedo whips the ball in, it comes up off Gabriel and lands nicely into the hands of Cillessen.
33' Valencia try and fail to counter as Barcelona tip-tap the ball around in front of their box. Fati gets tired of this and whistles a shot wide of Cillessen's left-hand post.
Rodrigo
Yellow Card
31' Rodrigo gets the first yellow card of the game as he treads on de Jong's ankle. It's deserved.
29' All three shots on target in this game so far have resulted in goals. Who needs goalkeepers?
Rodrigo
Assist
27' Rodrigo's through-ball was lovely as he found his strike partner perfectly. Game on!
K. Gameiro
Goal
27' GAMEIRO'S GOAL STANDS! It's 2-1 Valencia. That could change things. Barcelona have been utterly dominant up to this point.
27' GOAL! VALENCIA 2-1! Gameiro gets between Alba and Lenglet and slides the ball into the net. Hang on - there's a VAR check for offside...
26' Valencia finally escape as Torres is brought down by Lenglet.
25' Alba floats a ball over the top for his opposite number Semedo. He tries to get away from Guedes but Guedes clears it. Valencia can't get out of their half.
23' Barcelona are having to be patient in their build-up now as Valencia have woken up. Arthur threads a ball through for Semedo to latch onto but Cillessen is there to claim it.
21' Valencia's two strikers Rodrigo and Gameiro combine well to set Gameiro galloping into the box. Gameiro's shot from a tight angle on the left thuds wide. He should have done better there.
19' Semedo looks down the line for Perez. Parejo just does enough to prevent Perez latching onto it.
17' Fati skips inside from the left flank again and powers a right-footed shot towards goal from range. It just bounces wide as Garay gets in the way of it. It's a Barca corner that's cleared.
15' Barcelona have had around 73% possession in the first 15 minutes. So far, so Barcelona.
13' Barcelona are dictating all of the play at the moment. Arthur wins a free-kick as he's fouled by Guedes.
11' Griezmann is fouled in Valencia's half by Guedes, who's tracking back for his team.
9' After that quick one-two punch, Valencia are starting to get to grips with what's happened to them. Torres wins a corner from the right off Lenglet. Ter Stegen punches clear.
Ansu Fati
Assist
7' Fati found de Jong with ease there - his confidence for a boy so young is astonishing. He is going to be some talent if he carries on like this.
F. de Jong
Goal
7' GOAL! 2-0 BARCELONA! The two newcomers Fati and de Jong combine again. This time, Fati cuts in from the left, beating Garay. He cuts back to find de Jong, who arrows the ball high into the net!
4' Barcelona pass the ball around in their inimitable way. Ernesto Valverde must be pleased. He's giving the teenager Fati his chance and he's more than delivering so far.
F. de Jong
Assist
2' The assist goes to de Jong who squared a magnificent ball to Fati. That'll get Camp Nou going in these early stages.
Ansu Fati
Goal
2' GOAL! WHAT A START FOR BARCELONA! 1-0! And it's the 16-year-old Fati who gets it! The youngster makes no mistake, finding the bottom right corner from the centre of the box for his second goal in two games.
1' And we're off!
The two teams are now out on the Camp Nou pitch! Let's get this show on the road!
Barcelona have lost only two of their last 24 LaLiga games against Valencia (W14 D8), so by all accounts this should be a home win. However, those two defeats both came at the Camp Nou, the last in April 2016. Will Valencia overcome the odds and repeat the trick?
Barcelona make two changes from the side that dropped two points late on to Osasuna. Arthur and Fati come in, while Rafinha and Roberto make way. Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele are still out injured. New Valencia boss Albert Celades makes only the one change from the team that beat Mallorca 2-0 last time out, as Gabriel replaces Diakhaby at centre-back.
SUBS: Maxi Gomez, Mouctar Diakhaby, Jaume Domenech, Lee Kang-In, Jaume Costa, Denis Cheryshev, Geoffrey Kondogbia.
VALENCIA (4-4-2): Jasper Cillessen; Daniel Wass, Ezequiel Garay, Gabriel Paulista, Jose Gaya; Ferran Torres, Francis Coquelin, Daniel Parejo (c), Goncalo Guedes; Rodrigo Moreno, Kevin Gameiro.
SUBS: Sergi Roberto, Arturo Vidal, Inaki Pena, Ivan Rakitic, JuniorFirpo, Luis Suarez, Jean-Clair Todibo.
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Marc-Andre ter Stegen; Nelson Semedo, Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Arthur, Sergio Busquets (c), Frenkie de Jong; Carles Perez, Antoine Griezmann, Anssumane Fati.
Thankfully for them, Barcelona haven't had the brightest start to the season either. The champions too sit mid-table after only winning one of their opening three games, conceding a late equaliser last time out to Osasuna. What happens here is anyone's guess.
This hasn't been an easy week for Valencia. Having sacked their previous boss Marcelino after 'only' getting four points from their first three league games and winning the Copa del Rey, the club are now in what seems like unnecessary turmoil. Facing Barcelona now is not the ideal scenario.
