Ahmed Diomande's 38th-minute winner earned Asec Mimosas a 1-0 victory over Lobi Stars that ensured they secured their first win of Group A.

The hosts were stunned by Wydad Casablanca in Rabat in their last game in the Caf Champions League but got first win by defeating the Nigerians.

Things would have been worse if not for Olufemi Kayode, who pulled several superb saves in the encounter at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, Abidjan.

The result leaves Solomon Ogbeide’s side dead level with Wydad at the Group A summit pending the outcome of the Moroccans clash with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Lobi Stars wuld be hping to shake off their defeat when they welcome Wydad Casablanca to the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium on February 1.
