Meanwhile at the other end, Ramsdale has looked strong, preventing Telles and Elanga, while Dalot struck the crossbar from distance. This game could still go either way!
Somehow we’ve only seen three goals here, but there have been countless chances in front of goal for both teams to score more, with Ramsdale and De Gea making numerous saves. Although Arsenal won’t mind too much as they lead 2-1 and their first goal came early on through Taveres, after he pounced on a rebound at the far post following De Gea’s save to deny Saka. Nketiah then thought he had made it 2-0, but his goal was ruled out for offside, however, Saka was fouled by Telles in the build-up so after a VAR check a penalty was awarded, which Saka converted. 30' ARSENAL PENALTY! VAR have ruled out the goal, but instructed the referee to take a look at the footage on the monitor and he has awarded Arsenal a penalty, after Telles brings Saka down in the box.
29' It looks like VAR are going to rule Nketiah's goal out for offside, as he was slightly ahead of Telles in the box. However, they are now taking a look to see whether Arsenal can have a penalty instead, for a foul on Saka by Telles.
27' ARSENAL GOAL? Saka plays a lovely one-two with Odegaard on the edge of the penalty area and it looks like Saka wants to get a shot away himself, but instead flicks it to Nketiah under pressure from Telles. 19' Not too far away! Odegaard steps up to take a free-kick around 25 yards out, after Nketiah was fouled by Elanga. However, the effort doesn't have enough dip on it and the ball flies over the crossbar.
17' The game is very open at the moment, it's end-to-end, but we haven't seen any more chances in the final third by either side.
15' PENALTY SHOUT! Elanga gets in behind the Arsenal defence again, with Tavares hot on his heels as he closes in on Ramsdale's goal. The United winger goes down under the pressure and appeals for a penalty, but nothing is given.
13' Arsenal are unbeaten in their last three Premier League home games against Man Utd (W2 D1), keeping a clean sheet each time – they’ve never kept a clean sheet in four consecutive home league games against the Red Devils.
11' CHANCE! Ramsdale plays a poor pass out from the back and it falls straight to a United player and then to Fernandes, who tries to lob the ball over the keeper, but Gabriel does brilliantly to get back and make the block to send it wide.
10' It looks like Saka has an issue here for Arsenal, he's gone down after a collision with Telles and the medical team are on the pitch. It looks like he's going to try and run the injury off.
8' This is better from United, they've managed to get on the ball a bit more in the last couple of minutes, but Arsenal are pressing high and fast, so not allowing them much time in possession.
6' SAVE! United counter quickly and Ronaldo releases Elanga through on goal and he races into the penalty area and only has Ramsdale to beat. However, his strike is too close to the keeper, who makes a great stop to deny him.
5' United look shocked at how Arsenal have started the game, the hosts are all over them at the moment and are well on top in the opening stages.
Nuno Tavares
3' GOOOAAALLL! ARSENAL TAKE THE LEAD! What a start by the Gunners, but it’s awful defending from United! A deep cross comes into the box from the left wing and Varane and Telles both take a swing at the ball but miss it and it falls to Saka at the back post. Saka tries to curl it into the bottom left corner of the net, but De Gea makes a great diving save to deny him. However, it lands straight into the path of Tavares, who has a tap-in from close range and he makes it 1-0.
2' Arsenal have started the game brightly, they are keeping the ball well in the United half and already look dangerous in the final third, looking for an early goal.
