Largely untroubled in the first half. Onyango made routine saves from long-range efforts after the restart with Downs leading, but he was well beaten by Tiago Azulao, who sent him the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Denis Onyango - 6/10

Started well on the right side of Downs' defence. Morena dribbled the ball well and beat his opponent on a couple of occasions, but his delivery into the Petro box was poor and he was rarely tested defensively.

Put in a good performance at left-back.&nbsp; Lakay went up and down the wing well using his speed and combined well with his teammates. His well-taken free-kick led to the equalising goal.

Lyle Lakay - 7.5/10

Recalled to the starting line-up to replace an out-of-form Mosa Lebusa. De Reuck passed the ball around well, helping his side move out of the tight spots they were put in by Petro's press and also contained Azulao, who could only score from the spot-kick.

Rushine De Reuck - 6/10

Delivered a combative performance at the heart of Downs defence. Mandela was instrumental in clearing some of the key passes played into dangerous areas in the box, while also keeping Yano quiet. He scored Downs' goal on the night.

Brian Mandela - 7.5/10

Made a decent start to the game. Jali won a few key duels and passed the ball around well as Downs dominated possession. However, he made an unnecessary and reckless challenge on Azulao that led to a penalty which was converted by the Petro striker.

Andile Jali  - 5.5/10

He came on as a second-half substitute during the first leg but started this time as Sundowns preferred a more attacking strategy against Petro Atletico.

Lebohang Maboe

Put in an energetic shift on the right flank for Masandawana. Zwane also appeared in attacking positions on the opposite wing as he created chances for his teammates. He was unlucky from the penalty spot as he hit the woodwork.

Themba Zwane - 6/10

Made his return to the starting line-up. Ralani was one of the chief distributors of the ball as Downs tried to overturn an early deficit, but his influence waned after the restart and he was substituted.

Bradley Ralani - 6/10

Handed a starting berth after he impressed as a substitute in the first-leg clash. Maema passed the ball around well in the first half but his passes lacked end product or any threat which led to his substitution after the restart.

Neo Maema - 5/10

Disappointing game by the Namibian hitman. Shalulile should have scored after being set up by Zwane from close range, but somehow missed the target and failed to register a single shot on target on the night.

Peter Shalulile - 5/10

Worked hard in midfield.Maboe never stopped running carrying balls into the attacking areas from midfield. He forced goalkeeper Wellington into a fine save.

Lebohang Maboe - 6/10

Good going forward and linked up well with his teammates upfront, but unfortunately, chances didn't fall for him in the visitors' box having been introduced in the 67th minute.

Pavol Safranko - 5.5/10

Put in a decent shift after coming on 67 minutes into the game - carrying balls from midfield into the final third and winning a few fouls.

Lesedi Kapinga - 6/10

Came on with 17 minutes left and he failed to provide any significant attacking output for his side.

Gaston Sirino - 5/10

Introduced in stoppage time and it was too late to make an impact.
