    Real Madrid seek redemption

Los Blancos have won 20 of the last 70 El Clasico's played in all competitions while Barcelona have been victorious on 31 previous occasions, but Madrid's most recent defeat in the Copa Del Rey would have hurt as they were convincingly beaten 3-0 by their rivals and Saturday's opponents.

Real Madrid are also winless in the last 5 El Clasicos. Their last win came in the Spanish Super Cup back in 2017, while the most recent league win dates as far back as 2016, a 2-1 away win.

For the entire weekend, all SuperSport channels will be available for all DStv customers to stream on DStv Now.

  2. The Lionel Messi Effect

Going into the game, Madrid will have to be wary of the Argentine. While he is enjoying one his quieter seasons, he has still scored 25 goals so far in the league.

Not many can match Messi as Barca's next top scorer is Luis Suarez, who has netted 16 goals of which three were from the penalty spot.

    Barca's away record

Playing away from the Nou Camp is certainly no problem for Barcelona currently.

Not only are they on a nine-game unbeaten streak in all competitions but boast a five-game unbeaten streak away from home.

It is also important to note that Barcelona's win over Real Madrid in the Cup came at the same venue where Madrid will host the Blaugrana on Saturday - the Santiago Bernabeu.

    Benzema's Madrid's hit-man

Following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure at the beginning of the season, it has left big shoes to fill for Real Madrid

However, Karim Benzema has stepped up to the plate and scored 11 goals so far this season. The Frenchman was last on target in Madrid's most recent league outing - a 2-1 win over Levante

    Barcelona rapid

Barcelona's biggest La Liga win this season was an 8-2 win over Huesca on the 2nd September 2018, while Real Madrid's biggest win was a 3-0 victory over Deportivo Alaves.

    Real Madrid's defensive frailties

While the Madrid giants have been a force to be reckoned with in front of goal, it is at the back where they have looked weak, and Barcelona could look to expose them.

Real Madrid have conceded 30 goals in just 25 league games this season but have still managed nine clean sheets,  just one less than Barcelona with 10.

    Isco The Forgotten

With Madrid in need of some inspiration, many would have expected them to look to the 26-year-old playmaker Isco.

However, he has fallen out of favour at the club amid interest from several other European giants in his services.

Isco has played just 609 minutes of league football this season (15 games) and has scored just one goal.

His last appearance came as a substitute in the win over Deportivo Alaves in the league on 3 February 2019.

    Modric The Magician

Barcelona may have Messi and Jordi Alves leading the assists charts, but Madrid have Luka Modric.

The midfielder leads Madrid's assists charts having been directly involved in four goals this season.

His closest rival at the club is Lucas Vazquez, who has three.

Real Madrid and Barcelona late bloomers

When it comes to late goals, the two giants certainly stand out.

Real Madrid have scored 27.9% (12) of their goals in the final 15 minutes of their respective league encounters while Barcelona have scored 29.2% (19) in that same period.

This should keep fans captivated until the very last minute on Saturday.
