Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar has left social media in awe after his superb performance in the 1-0 2022 Fifa World Cup victory against Brazil on Friday.
The 31-year-old Aboubakar stunned the Selecao in the Group G contest at Lusail Stadium when he headed home in the 92nd minute, scoring past Ederson. He was, however, sent off for a second bookable offence for removing his shirt in celebration of the winner.
Though the goal did not help Cameroon to qualify for the Round of 16, fans have taken to social media to hail the Al Nassr star.
A number of fans have rated him beyond the level of Argentina's Lionel Messi, Portuguese's Cristiano Ronaldo and Brazil's Neymar.
Ahead of the World Cup Aboubakar had said in an interview that he was better than Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. Fans have also revived the debate with a cross-section of them agreeing with his sentiments that he was much better than the Egypt international.

I'm starting to believe him when he said Salah is not better than him 🔥This guy is a star. He knows how to carry the team on his shoulders. He is a leader. - @omere_japheth
I now agree that Aboubakar can do whatever Salah does, just get him to a big club. - @geoffreyinnit

Legend! Sad that Song kept him on the bench for the first two matches but he still managed to bow out with two goals and an assist, a true African giant. What a way to bow out from the world cup tournament because of his age. He has my respect. - @olisanwizu
Aboubakar should have started the first game against Switzerland. Who knows, they would have won that match or at least drawn🥺 But yeah, it's all in the past now. - @miss_osas
Why didn't the coach play him from the beginning of the tournament he brought him on as a sub twice when it was too late. Hopefully he's around in four years time though. @MaddocksTanrien
One of the best red card seen in football this year, referee and player smiling together. - @Iamdesire144
I have never seen a player and a ref being happy together in a red card transaction until that moment. - @vayevaye
Vincent Aboubakar is first player in history of football to get red carded and have hand shake with referee 😂😜- @Ntsoane_
Beating Brazil like winning World Cup
Beating Brazil is like winning the world cup to an African team. - @MshuzaJR
Africa certainly brought it at this World Cup. Aboubakar handing Brazil a defeat was the cherry on top to an impressive performance to the last of the African teams competing in the group stage. Well done 🇨🇲⚽️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 - @DillonChavez
Cameroon made this tournament more entertaining than any other team so far. It is a shame we are coming back home but I’ll leave these here for the record. Thank You!🇨🇲❤️- @your_favoriti

Vincent Aboubakar's World Cup bow was like a carving on an ancient cave in Qatar. Even at the expense of elimination, it must've lifted his soul and translated his joy in Arabic. It was a bow worthy of an appellation. That is a sign of an indomitable lion, gutful & fearless. - @StanleyMikeCB
