Zoo Kericho bounces back from defeat with a triumphant victory over Nzoia Sugar

Zoo FC jumped three places up in the Kenyan Premier League standing following a 3-1 victory over Nzoia Sugar.

Zoo leapfrogged Nakumatt, Sony Sugar and losers Nzoia to move joint on points with 10th placed Posta Rangers.

Isaac Kipyegon, Kepha Ondati and Bernard Odhiambo all shook the net in the first half to put Zoo on the driving seat against a hapless Nzoia.

Saturday's defeat by Zoo left the Millers still waiting for a first victory in nine games. Nzoia last picked a league victory on May 27 against debutantes Wazito at the Camp Toyoyo.

Zoo, on the other hand, needed to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat by Rangers last time out and they did it in style. Odhiambo gave Zoo the lead with only nine minutes on the clock before Ondati doubled the lead in the 35th minute.

Kipyegon put the game beyond Nzoia's reach with a third goal at the stroke of half-time to give Zoo a deserved 3-0 lead at the break.

Festus Okiring scored a consolation for Nzoia from the spot, late in the dying minutes of the game after Patrick Kwitonda was brought down inside the box.

Zoo Kericho XI: Martin Elungat, Johnson Ligare, Sindani Sabiri, Dominic Ouma, Isaac Kipyegon, Geoffrey Gichana, Danson Chetambe, Michael Madoya, Kepha Ondati, Dominic Kiprono and Bernard Odhiambo.
