Ze Maria: Gor Mahia will take a match at a time in KPL

Gor Mahia has been exceptional this season, and despite losing two matches, the fifteen times league champions have taken the lead on the log.

Despite early pressure and inconsistency, Brazilian coach Ze Maria has slowly managed to steady the ship. That 3-0 win against bitter rivals AFC Leopards increased the level of confidence to his side, but the tactician is not being carried away.

"Yes, confidence is good on my players, they have self belief which is important at this stage. We have quality in the team and being on top of the table is good, however, we are not getting over confident because it might work against us in the long run," Ze Maria told Goal.

"The best thing to do right now is take one match at a time and ensure we get good result."

The former champions will play host to Thika United in their next league match at Nyayo Stadim on Sunday.
