New Edubiase United have announced Mallam Yahaya as new manager, with the former Ghana international taking over from Anthony Commey, who parted ways with the club in December following their relegation from the Ghana Premier League last season.

The 37-year-old admitted his excitement after being handed the opportunity and promised to help to return them to the top-flight.

"I am highly impressed with the trust shown me by the club's top hierarchy. I will do everything humanly possible to see Edubiase in the Ghana Premier League as soon as possible. We have to qualify because the premier league is where we belong," Yahaya said.

"Majority of the first team players are still around so there won't be serious transfers. We have to add few experienced players to help our course. However, I will need the total backing of the supporters before we can achieve success since they are very instrumental in any club's activities," he added.

Edubiase owner Abdul Salam Yakubu, meanwhile, highlighted Yahaya's track record and pledged to back the new man in his bid to win qualification.

"I am very pleased to welcome Yahaya to the club. In him we have, without doubt, secured the services of one of fast rising managers in the country," he stated.

"Yahaya has managed lots of successful clubs at the very highest level of the game so we should be very proud to now have him. I promise to help him achieve his target to make everyone happy."

The Division One was scheduled to kick on February 4 but it has been postponed to February 28. They will travel to Samraboi to face Samatex FC on opening day before they host Fajai Real United at home.
