William Troost-Ekong debuts, Seko Fofona scores as Udinese hold Parma

The Nigeria international played his first game for the Little Zebras but couldn’t do enough to get an away victory against their hosts

William Troost-Ekong enjoyed a successful Udinese debut as he helped Udinese secure a 2-2 away draw versus Parma on Sunday.

Roberto Inglese and Antonio Barilla had given the hosts a two-goal advantage but Rodrigo De Paul pulled one back for the Little Zebras, while Cote d’Ivoire international Seko Fofana had the final say with his 69th  minute equaliser.

Troost-Ekong joined the Italians from Bursaspor on Friday and was handed a starter’s shirt by manager Julio Velazquez. The 24-year-old did not disappoint as he was on from start to finish at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Just like the Nigerian, Fofona was on for the entire duration while Ghana’s Nicholas Opoku was ignored by Velazquez.

With the away point, Udinese are seventh in the Serie A log and they welcome Sampdoria to the Dacia Arena on August 26.
