The Shield semis will be a battle between Kariobangi Sharks against Ulinzi Stars while Sofapaka will confront AFC Leopards

Despite defeating Gor Mahia to claim their place in the last four of the Shield Cup, Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya is not impressed with his striking department.

The Sharks wasted a number of clear cut chances against the Kenyan Premier League champions, but managed to win 4-2 on post-match penalties after a barren draw in regular time. With Ulinzi Stars coming next, the youthful tactician is optimistic his strikers will be clinical.

“Our main problem has been scoring goals, we have struggled badly in that department and even against Gor Mahia we had many chances to win the match in regular time but we did not. It is something that we have to address before facing Ulinzi Stars in the semis.

“The game against Gor Mahia was a tough but I am happy that we have managed to get past them, it is a motivation to us,” Muluya told Goal.

The other semi-final match will be between Sofapaka and defending Champions AFC Leopards.
