The Olukoya Boys are in need of a win in Maiduguri to beat the Peace Boys to the diadem, and the gaffer is hoping for Kennedy Boboye's men fall in Jos

Fidelis Ilechukwu believes MFM have all it takes to wrestle the Nigerian league title from leaders Plateau United with a win against El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri.

The Olukoya Boys defeated Nasarawa United 1-0 to reduce gap with Kennedy Boboye's men to one point, and could win the title with a win in Maiduguri in a final day encounter.

The league toppers now need three points to guarantee their first Nigerian crown and the gaffer is still hoping for Plateau’s slip to claim the diadem after securing a continental spot.

"We are very happy with the way we started despite the up and down this season and very glad with where we are now," Ilechukwu told Goal.

"We know is going to be tough because Plateau United has little advantage over us but we are still determined to achieve our dreams and our targets this season.

"We have achieved a great deal of our plans qualifying for the Caf Champions League next season and bringing continental football to Lagos again after a long time.

"The title race is still open because who knows Plateau could make any mistake - this is football. We are walking and watching closely and standing behind the door.

"Immediately they mistaking open the door, they will see my head first, though they have an advantage to win the league but it is not over. But they also need to win."
