Tetteh not bothered by Ghana snub in Afcon qualifier against Ethiopia

Sparta Prague striker Benjamin Tetteh says he is not hurt by his absence from Ghana's squad to face Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on November 18.

With the Black Stars struggling for goals in the campaign, Tetteh was seen as a potential solution after scoring eight league goals this season in 14 games.

Ghana's 20-man squad for the must-win clash includes four strikers namely Asamoah Gyan, Jordan Ayew, Emmanuel Boateng and Majeed Waris.

"I am happy at my club and not really thinking about the national team [snub] but, of course, if a call-up comes, I will humbly grab it because it’s everyone’s pride to play for his country," the 21-year-old told Graphic Sports .

"It’s been a great season for me with eight goals so far, it’s been really incredible. In every game I try as much as possible to be better than the previous and I keep improving.

"I am happy because I focus just on myself and don’t look at what others are doing. I want to be the best. As a striker my duty is to score in every game and I am on course," he added

Ghana, who sit four points behind leaders Kenya in Group F, are expected to open their camping in Nairobi on November 12.
