TEAM NEWS: Sturridge and Lallana sit out Liverpool's Sunderland test

The Reds boss has stuck with the same 11 that were held to a goalless draw at Southampton for Saturday's encounter with the Black Cats

Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana are sidelined for Liverpool’s hosting of Sunderland, with Jurgen Klopp naming an unchanged Liverpool starting XI for the first time in 41 league games.

The striker has a minor calf issue and is not involved in the matchday squad, with the midfielder still nursing the groin injury he picked up on England duty.

Academy starlet Ben Woodburn, 17, is on the teamsheet for the first time in a competitive game.
