Khune will make his 87th appearance for the South African senior national team as Baxter looks to continue blending youth with experience

Bafana Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter has named a strong starting line-up for the four-nation tournament final against Zambia in Ndola.

The 64-year-old mentor decided to bring back the old guard against a team they last beat in January 2015.

After beating Angola 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out, Baxter promised to make wholesale changes for the match against Chipolopolo, and he has kept his word.

Itumeleng Khune returns to take over from Darren Keet in goal, while Thulani Hlatshwayo also gets to start in central defence alongside Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Innocent Maela complete the back four, and they will be operating at right and left-back respectively.

Teboho Mokoena and Siphesihle Ndlovu have also cracked the nod in midfield, and they will be guided by Brentford FC star Kamohelo Mokotjo, who also makes his return to the side as Bongani Zungu and Dean Furman make way.

Keagan Dolly, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Percy Tau will lead the attack in the absence of Themba Zwane and Lebo Mothiba, who started against Angola in the opening match.

Keet and Zungu will not play part in this encounter as they are not in contention. This means Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper Brendan Peterson will be on the Bafana bench for the first time in his football career.

Bafana are desperate to win and ease the pressure on Baxter, who will be hoping to do things differently going forward and make sure that he helps the national team improve their Fifa rankings.
