Sydney FC confirm Bobo discussions

Sydney FC CEO Danny Townsend has confirmed the club have been talking to their former striker Bobo as he considers a return to the A-League.

Reports during the week revealed the Brazilian is considering a return to Australia after a difficult stint to date in Turkey has seen him score just twice across 12 appearances for Antalyaspor.

While Adelaide United were named as one club looking closely at the potential of signing Bobo, Sydney FC have since come out and thrown their name firmly in the ring.

"Yes - we are speaking with him," Townsend said on Twitter.

"We all had a great time together so if he has interest we would never not explore the possibility - he is always welcome at our club."

The Sky Blues are on the lookout for another attacker after Trent Buhagiar was ruled out for the season with an ACL injury.

They still have a foreign spot available but would have to sign Bobo within the salary cap with both marquee spots taken.

Bobo ended last season as the A-League's top scorer and set a record for goals in a single campaign in the process.

The 33 year old bagged 52 goals across his two seasons with Sydney FC and will be in hot demand should he commit to an A-League return.
