Scotland have been forced to make three injury-related changes from the squad that defeated Albania in September to qualify for the World Cup.

Defenders Sophie Howard and Emma Mitchell miss out, as does midfielder Kim Little. In their places are Joelle Murray, Nicola Docherty, and Hayley Lauder.

The U.S. roster is down to 21 players after Lindsey Horan left camp due to a personal commitment following her 90-minute effort against Portugal on Thursday. 

Christen Press and Tobin Heath also withdrew from the roster prior to the Portugal match due to family and personal commitments, respectively.

The United States women's national team have reestablished themselves as the world's top side in 2018, and look to build momentum towards a vital 2019 with their final match of the year on Tuesday.

It has been a banner 2018 for the USA, who bring a 27-game unbeaten run into the match at Simple Digital Arena, having last tasted defeat in the summer of 2017.

The U.S. defeated Portugal 1-0 in their penultimate game of 2018 on Thursday in a game that was closer than many would have expected. 

U.S. manager Jill Ellis experimented with her lineup in that match, starting several players who are currently on the outside looking in on the team's likely World Cup roster for next summer. 

Ellis could look to continue that experimentation against Scotland, with midfielder Danielle Colaprico a candidate to make her first start for the U.S. after earning her first cap against Portugal. 

Full-back Emily Fox earned her first cap against Portugal as well, and Casey Short could be drafted back into the team in her place against Scotland.

Star forward Alex Morgan could also come back into the side after Ellis opted to start Jessica McDonald against the Portuguese, with the 30-year-old scoring the game's only goal on just her second cap. 

For Scotland, Tuesday will be a huge opportunity to measure themselves against the world's best ahead of their first World Cup next summer. 

Scotland's last game came back in September, when a 2-1 win at Albania clinched a milestone berth in France.
