Rise and Shine are looking to extend their good run in the league against the Team of Choice, while the Citizens are seeking revenge against Usuthu

The 2018/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) action will continue on Saturday with Polokwane City taking on Maritzburg United.

The two teams will clash at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Rise and Shine will be hoping to return to winning ways after being eliminated from the 2018 Telkom Knockout Cup by SuperSport United at home last weekend.

They secured a surprise 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs away in their last league game two weeks ago.

The win took Polokwane City into the top eight on the league standings as they are placed sixth with 14 points from eight matches.

Vusimuzi Mngomezulu, Polokwane City, & Mpho Makola, Orlando Pirates

A victory over Maritzburg will take Rise and Shine into the top three positions on the table.

Serbian coach Jozef Vukusic and his assistant Bernard Molekwa will look to Vusi Mngomezulu, who has been in good form having netted the winning goal against Chiefs.

Polokwane will face a Maritzburg side brimming with confidence after booking their place in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals with a win over Highlands Park at home last weekend.

They were held to a 0-0 draw by a stubborn Cape Town City side at home in their last league match two weeks ago.

As a result, Mariztburg are close to the relegation zone as they are placed 13th on the league standings with seven points from seven matches.

The Team of Choice will be desperate for a victory against Polokwane City as it would see them move further away from the relegation zone.

Fadlu Davids, Maritzburg United

Siphesihle Ndlovu, who was on the scoresheet as Maritzburg beat Highlands Park, has the ability to inspire Fadlu Davids' side to victory.

Maritzburg secured a 2-1 win over Polokwane in their last league meeting on the 16th of March 2018.

Meanwhile, Cape Town City will be seeking revenge when they welcome AmaZulu FC in a PSL match at the Cape Town Stadium in the Mother City.

The Citizens bowed out of the Telkom Knockout after losing to Usuthu away last weekend.

The defeat extended City's winless run to three games as they had drawn 0-0 with Maritzburg in a league match before facing AmaZulu.

Their current poor run sees them placed 14th on the league standings with seven points from eight matches.

A victory for the Citizens against AmaZulu will see them move further away from the relegation zone.

Benni McCarthy, Cape Town City

City head coach Benni McCarthy is expected to unleash experienced striker Tokelo Rantie, who is yet to make his debut since joining the club last August.

The Citizens will lock horns with a confident AmaZulu side, who have their sights set on another win over their hosts.

Prior to facing City, Usuthu had drawn 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates at home in their last league game two weeks ago.

The draw extended their winless run to five matches in the league and they are placed 16th on the standings with three points from eight games.

Usuthu will remain 16th on the table even if they secure a win over City, but it would cut the gap to one point between them and the relegation play-off spot.

Emiliano Tade, who has been in good scoring form for AmaZulu, will look to find the back of the net and help Cavin Johnson's side to a win in Cape Town.

AmaZulu defeated City 1-0 in their last league meeting on the 12th of May 2018.
