The Nigerian duo will not be joining Eusebio Di Francesco’s side for training this summer, thus, increasing both players' chances of going out on loan

Sadiq Umar and Abdullahi Nura have been dropped from AS Roma’s pre-season squad for this summer training.

The Giallorossi will begin their preparation for the 2018-19 campaign in Trigoria next week before jetting to the United States for the International Champions Cup.

And manager Eusebio Di Francesco has confirmed 31 players for the exercise with the Nigerian players missing out.

Umar has been heavily linked with a loan switch to Rangers this summer and could leave the Stadio Olimpico for his fourth loan spell.

Nura, 20, spent last season on loan with Perugia but was restricted to three matches in the Italian Serie B due to a cardiological issue.

Roma begin their pre-season friendlies with a fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on July 26 and will later play Barcelona and Real Madrid on August 1 and 8 respectively.
