Niger Tornadoes’ Reuben Ogbonnaya says they are not losing sleep despite being held to a goalless draw at home to Kogi United in a friendly tie played in Minna.

Ogbonnaya missed the test game owing to personal issues and claims that emphasis was not on the result of the match but keeping them busy ahead of the continuation of the league season.

He said with the date for the league restart still unknown it is only friendly matches that can keep them in top shape and that they are happy to play a lot of them.

“We played a goalless draw against Kogi United but I missed the tie because I need to be by the side of my wife who just gave birth to a baby girl,” Ogbonnaya told Goal.

“We still have some more friendly matches to be played. We need matches like this to keep us busy and to enable us to know the level we are before the league restarts. We are not considering the result because it is secondary.

“I hope to link up with my teammates by the weekend and I will know what we have left of our schedule. We have to be busy with friendly games and I know that a lot of them have been lined up. We want to be ready for the continuation of the league so that as soon as we get a directive on when it will continue we will just blend with it.”
