Santiago Solari's first La Liga match in charge of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu could be a competitive encounter against Sergio Gonzalez's in-form side

In a normal season, the visit of Valladolid to the Santiago Bernabeu would not be a cause of great concern for Real Madrid.

This campaign, however, has been far from normal in La Liga with Los Blancos languishing in ninth place and Valladolid flying high in sixth.

Real's problems this term have been well documented and they will be hoping to pick up another victory after getting back to winning ways in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.

Latest odds

Valladolid are unbeaten in the five away matches they have played in La Liga this term and bet365 off the visitors at 12/1 (13.00) for the win.

Real Madrid have won each of their last seven home matches against the side from the region of Castille and Leon, and the hosts are priced at 1/6 (1.16) with the draw at 13/2 (7.50).

Team news

Real Madrid have some problems in defence with left-back Marcelo out with the injury he picked up in the Clasico while centre-backs Raphael Varane and Jesus Vallejo are also injured. Right-back Dani Carvajal has been missing for a month but is pushing for a return.

Croatia international striker Duje Cop has been missing for three weeks for Valladolid but returned to training this week and could be in the matchday squad.

Preview

Valladolid's start to the season has surpassed all expectations and they will head to the Bernabeu with more confidence than they would have expected.

On the road, Sergio Gonzalez's side have kept four clean sheets in five matches and their record of three goals conceded away from home is the best in the division.

Furthermore, Valladolid have scored in each of their last eight matches in all competitions and with Real Madrid conceding in five of their last six games, the visitors will feel they can score at the Bernabeu.
