Veteran goalkeeper Wilson Oburu was called upon twice in the 80th minute to save close range shots by Modern Coast Rangers striker Francis Ochola, who was signed from Western Stima. The victory comes as a relief for the Paul Nkata led Bandari following a disastrous 0-2 defeat to Mwatate United in a friendly played last week in Wundanyi.

Bandari are preparing for Kenya Premier League 2017 season whose kick-off date is yet to be confirmed following a court order obtained by Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka fans seeking to bar KPL organizers from releasing the fixtures.
